What do you get when you mix a hangover, sliding doors at a late-night hotel and the Big of Big Nuz? Click the Show button below.
Please picture it.
I didn't manage to grab a snap for us unfort. 'cos I was half-comatose. I stayed next door to Big Nuz for the Channel O Awards, except I didn't know.
At about 4:45am I woke up, not able to sleep and stepped out of the room's sliding doors to have a cig, hair wild, in my pyjamees. All the sliding doors of the ground floor rooms at the hotel were right next to each other, so there were no seperate balconies when you went outside.
As I stepped out, all I saw was moobs in a vest and got such a fright I said: "Oh! hellooo ... were you at the awards too??" Needless to say da Big (who was Big Nuz on the night) was clearly thinking: "Um,
duh." *while puffing a cig too*
Next thing this small chick stepped out of his sliding doors - she looked very much like Jenn from Big Brother, except with a nose or lip-ring, can't remember which - she was friendly and chatty.
She told me that she hadn't been at the awards but was friends with Nuz, and that she'd hooked up with them afterwards. Two seconds later they'd disappeared inside. Sliding doors closed.
A fitting end to the evening that started with everyone flashing on the aviation-themed carpet and at the afterparty:
O Access' Dineo Moeketsi made a beeline for Idols' L'loyd in one of the many dresses she wore on the night.
She must have had at least three others tucked away. Also, during the actual show, in the ad-breaks, host Lungsta or Thomas Gumede - can't remember who - told the audience that her weave cost R4000.Elvis Blue had all sorts of hectic fash. crimes going on, most specifically a weird handbag that didn't seem to have a thing in it.
More impressive was IK. For once he wasn't wearing clothes two sizes too small for him. I commended him for ditching the kiddies clothes - I thought you'd want me to - he seemed pleased.
You know w'ooh.
"Whoever put me in this creased mess is going to pay."
Theunis "Loser" Crous was nowhere to seen.
I've never seen him in the flesh but decided that if he was there I was gonna cause a scene. The plan was: Walk up to him, smack him, call out "User" (while making a U sign on my forehead) then leave with a stiletto kick.Khanyi found solace in the arms of Siya Ngwekazi ...
... who's working on a comedy show with Lungsta and Thomas Gumede.
They're working on the pilot episode and hoping it gets picked in early 2011.
The hottest pilots spotted at the shindig S & T (Sipho & Thami). They greeted guests as they arrived.
Buff (alo Soldier) and his enourage/date.
Proverb cheated on his wife Onalerona and was there with his bromance buddy Hond (Dog). No jokes, it's his name.
Still together: Mo.B.
They've been together at every event since Big Brother All Stars. I got clarify on how long they've been an item now: they've known each other for 2 years and only started dating this year.
When I first spotted them together at the BBAS premiere I assumed it was their two-year romantic anniversary but it was their two-year anniversary of meeting each other.
Winner of the award for Best Dressed To The Aviation Theme: Uganda's Azari. You may remember her from two award seasons ago? ...
... blast to the past, in 2008.
Lizha James (centre) in an Anna Maria Bernado out'fit. Turns out her signature designer Taibo, who she told us about in her interview, wasn't able to make her gear this year so she went with AMB.
Speaking of designers ... Gert-Johan Coetzee was there natch, with his fiance Vicky. Gert dressed Thembi Seete, Dineo M, DJ Zinhle and Mozambican muso Dama Do Bling for the awards. He's also opening his own boutique soon.
Miss Sowetan Mangali Ngcobo.
You know w'ooh too.
Any idea who this is? Me neither. No clue but I snapped her 'cos she looked like she could be famous in a stick insect sort of way.
And this??
Turns out it's Stefan Ludik: of Big Brother Africa 1 and former-Egoli, ha. The T-shirt that he wore says it all - he seemed to be on the prowl for girls bigtime.
dEJA vU
Khanyi was there with her bestie Mbali Ngwenyama, who was with her last year too ...
in 2009: According to Khanyi the pair are BFFF+ 'cos they've been so tight for years.
My fave belt was in the action again too, in a different size from last year. I touched it again.
Kenyan muso Nameless, in 2009.
