Meet The South African Survivors

Like CIA contacts or people in the witness protection program, the contestants of Survivor SA have been shrouded in secrecy. I have savoured every scrap of new information and every media leak that even hints at the identity of these survivors.

My attempts to glean information based on nothing but the contestants’ backs (a process known as assology) were fruitless. But now finally, M-Net has had its fill of torturing us poor Survivor fanatics and has released the names of the contestants. I have the contestant bios in my grubby little (virtual) paws at long last.

Assology: not likely to catch on as a science

So what does the Survivor SA cast have in store for us? A whole lotta models for one thing. Every second contestant seems to be one. But hey, the various seasons of the US version don’t exactly skimp on the models slash actors slash bartenders so we’re certainly following the formula there.

Luckily there seem to be quite a few ordinary mortals in the mix as well. First impressions are good. They look like an interesting bunch. As always, here are my snap opinions and pre-judgements on the latest lot of island-dwelling Survivors:
