Ultimate Amazing Animals: The Ape Who Has Conversations With Humans

oprah_08_03_2011After learning about Kanzi in a Time magazine article, Lisa Ling traveled to the Great Ape Trust in Iowa, where primatologist Dr. Sue Savage-Rumbaugh has been studying bonobos for nearly 40 years.

Dr. Sue has been teaching Kanzi to communicate using lexigrams on a computer. Dr. Sue Savage-Rumbaugh introduces Lisa Ling to Kanzi, an amazing ape who can have conversations.

See how he uses lexigrams to say what's on his mind and meet baby Teco, his son.

Plus, when Sex and the City star Kristin Davis traveled to Kenya to go on safari last year, she thought she was going to admire the wild animals from afar. Instead, she found herself trekking into the wilderness to save an orphan elephant.
