CHIEFS VS PIRATES

Soccer City
26 September 2010
Kickoff: 15H00
Live on Sabc 1 & Supersport 4

There will be no death of passion, spark, fire and rivalry at all as Soccer City hosts what is arguably one of the biggest games in this season so far as two of the bitterest rivalries lock horns for the second time in the MTN 8 Wafa Wafa 2nd leg semi-final. It's Kaizer Chiefs vs Orlando Pirates....ja ja ja I know some of you are saying we've seen it all before, but what makes this game even more interesting is that neither me nor you knows what to expect on Sunday.

Chiefs go into this match having the slightest of advantages having scored on the away leg, which means if the match ends goalless Chiefs will advance to the final.

The formbook:

It’s fair to say that neither side is yet to deliver a resoundingly consummate performance this season, although Kaizer Chiefs have definitely come the closest with comfortable – if not exhilarating – 1-0 wins over Bloemfontein Celtic and Golden Arrows.

Orlando Pirates go into this match having drawn all their past three games, the last time they won a game was in their opening game against Vasco Da Gama.

Key players:

As far as Kaizer Chiefs’ key player is concerned, it’s hard to see past striker and link-man-in-chief Knowledge Musona. The Zimbabwean has stepped it up this season scoring 5 goals in the 4 games.

Orlando Pirates will be hoping for a sterling performance from their new acquisitions Daine Klate and their talisman Isaac Chansa who scored the last time the two sides met.

Prediction:

It’s hard to predict who the winner will be but with Chiefs‘ cup pedigree...personally, I can’t envision anything other than a their victory come Sunday afternoon. I think we will see an inevitably tense and hard-fought affair, ultimately decided by a one-goal swing or if the match ends with both sides on stalemate….then Chiefs will win on penalties.

If the match ends with a 0-0 draw, Chiefs goes to the final on an away goal rule. Pirates need to score first to ensure that they do not lose this game on an away goal rule.

Knowing Pirates...they are not going to score, they are the draw specialist now.

For a change I was able to sleep without the vuvuzelas being drummed into my ears. I believe some of the Pirates fans slept at the FNB stadium as they could not believe what had happened.

Sobza i bet with that heavy list realist will say we bought referees...we never bought any referee if we did any proof?

27 Sep 2010 13:28

@Pele, Sobza did not even mention the Rothmans cup hence I say I rest my case.
What proof do you need, it was on national tv. Anyone with a sane brain saw what happened with the Rothmans cup.

pele
27 Sep 2010 13:37

Realist i respect you a lot, because in each and every debate we got to be engaged on with you always look for a proof in statements we make: you said we bought  a referee.. wher is the proof? what wason antinal TV that Chiefs bought a referee? teh reason proof is important common sense sometimes loses it's sense just like in this case.
Referees do mistakes all the time like the way they  did in the world Cup.
We won two Rothmans Cups do you mean to say we bought referees in both of games?
Sobza didnt mention it because it's way overi will think, and anything with cigarettes and smoking is no longer promoted, just admit we are Cup Kings qha.

realist
27 Sep 2010 13:55

because in each and every debate we got to be engaged on with you always look for a proof in statements we make: you said we bought a referee..
But Pele, do you honestly believe that you won the Rothmans cup on merit alone? Look back and honestly tell me that the referee did not have a helping hand in those two matches. Granted he made a mistake but to me as a Sundown’s supporter I call it a helping hand from the referee.

We won two Rothmans Cups do you mean to say we bought referees in both of games?
I did not say you bought the referee, I said with the help of the referee you won the Rothmans cup twice.
Ok, let us go for arbitration and settle this.
Sobza, can you please arbitrate.

Sobza I'm not a Pirates supporter and don't follow soccer but why do I find it hard to believe that this is the only cup that Pirates has won for the past 10yrs.

Please give us the right information if possible.

realist
27 Sep 2010 14:06

@One and Only?
That is correct. That is the last cup they have won for the past 10 years. All the other years they have been holding an umbrella for the other teams.

27 Sep 2010 14:12

Okay Realist i get you, Sundowns fans are still cry babies nango-2010, oko nanikhala nge Rothmans days ..lol.

Lending a hand in soccer lingo means buying the referee, you didnt need to mention it in bold letters kaloku.

No need for arbitartion here, just admit we Cup Kings qha wena.

Now that we agree, no need for arbitration.

27 Sep 2010 15:08

Apologies Sobza I thought you were just joking about that information, I haven't followed soccer for a long time now.

If Pirates last won a cup since 2001, the chances of them winning this one are slim as well mos. They should have let Chiefs win.

Why are people still supporting Pirates, anyway?

Sobza
27 Sep 2010 15:14

Look back and honestly tell me that the referee did not have a helping hand in those two matches. Granted he made a mistake but to me as a Sundown’s supporter I call it a helping hand from the referee.

It was luck and the referee made a mistake....if you check the Tshwane Derby between the Clowns and Supersport United....Sunclowns won the game 2-1, Mabhuti Khenyeza and Papi Zothwane scored from an offside position and the assistant referee did not pick that up. It was there on Soccerzone for everyone to see. Would it be fair if we say you won that game because of the helping hand from the ref.

<<Sobza I'm not a Pirates supporter and don't follow soccer but why do I find it hard to believe that this is the only cup that Pirates has won for the past 10yrs.>>

Kwa kwa kwa....@ One & Only....oh they won the league in 2002 then it was a very dry patch, yes they made cup finals in between those years and now...won the plastic Cup(Telkom Charity) in 2001, 2008, 2009

realist

Yes
Does the above signify Sundowns as the cup kings or as cheats like Chiefs?

Cande
27 Sep 2010 15:26

and dont call the Telkom cup a platic cup tu. Aghhh realist a KC fan never has anything good to say about Sundowns. They will even support Tembisa classic if it had to play with Sundowns so yeah you wasting ur energy..The Kenyeza thing was not the face mistake by a match official and certainly not the last so yeah whatever really Sobza..

Cande
27 Sep 2010 15:27

face--first. platic=plastic

Sobza
27 Sep 2010 15:37

Cande....the Telkom Charity Cup is made of plastic, hence I call it a plastic cup.

The Kenyeza thing was not the first mistake by a match official and certainly not the last so yeah whatever really Sobza..

You are right....then why the noise when the referee's makes a mistake when Chiefs is playing and the anti-Chiefs fans like you Cande and the Pee-rats always remind us that Chiefs won the Rothmans Cup because we bought the referee or we cheated.

27 Sep 2010 15:37

My stomach hurts now........hahahahaha

S.K
27 Sep 2010 15:41

@Cande, the mistake u talking about is exactly what happened to Chiefs during the Rothmans, hence we don't deserve to be called cheats!!!!! Please
