CHIEFS VS PIRATES
Soccer City
26 September 2010
Kickoff: 15H00
Live on Sabc 1 & Supersport 4
There will be no death of passion, spark, fire and rivalry at all as Soccer City hosts what is arguably one of the biggest games in this season so far as two of the bitterest rivalries lock horns for the second time in the MTN 8 Wafa Wafa 2nd leg semi-final. It's Kaizer Chiefs vs Orlando Pirates....ja ja ja I know some of you are saying we've seen it all before, but what makes this game even more interesting is that neither me nor you knows what to expect on Sunday.
Chiefs go into this match having the slightest of advantages having scored on the away leg, which means if the match ends goalless Chiefs will advance to the final.
The formbook:
It’s fair to say that neither side is yet to deliver a resoundingly consummate performance this season, although Kaizer Chiefs have definitely come the closest with comfortable – if not exhilarating – 1-0 wins over Bloemfontein Celtic and Golden Arrows.
Orlando Pirates go into this match having drawn all their past three games, the last time they won a game was in their opening game against Vasco Da Gama.
Key players:
As far as Kaizer Chiefs’ key player is concerned, it’s hard to see past striker and link-man-in-chief Knowledge Musona. The Zimbabwean has stepped it up this season scoring 5 goals in the 4 games.
Orlando Pirates will be hoping for a sterling performance from their new acquisitions Daine Klate and their talisman Isaac Chansa who scored the last time the two sides met.
Prediction:
It’s hard to predict who the winner will be but with Chiefs‘ cup pedigree...personally, I can’t envision anything other than a their victory come Sunday afternoon. I think we will see an inevitably tense and hard-fought affair, ultimately decided by a one-goal swing or if the match ends with both sides on stalemate….then Chiefs will win on penalties.
