SHUGA GETS SOUR...

I will look past the fact that the actual red carpet looked like it had seen better days and go straight to the celebs that came through. Not that there were lots of them.

Our first lady, Zanele Mbeki was walking way too fast for me to take a pic, I wonder if her date was actually a bodyguard? Do first ladies have bodyguards?
If not then I think I should have a chat with Tbose to see if he knows who mama Zanele was with at the awards.
On a serious note, it was good to see her there and she seemed to be enjoying herself.

Marawa

Robert Marawa, who is moving to MNET’s Supersport arrived with long time girlfriend, Gareth Brown in their cream coordinated outfits. I think they are gonna make beautiful babies one day!

Brigee

Soon after that Generations Actress, Bridget Masinga arrived with her date, who tried not to be photographed, I see. Unfortunately for him I was a bit fast!

Bridget

Fabulous top but I’m not too sure about the shorts, even Beyonce did not manage to pull it off with these pants.
Beautiful as she was, her feet must have been sweating with boots in that heat, iyo!

Size

Eish, Sizwe Dlomo is a nice guy but he really looks unhappy, even when he smiles. I can’t quite put my finger on it but there’s something that ain’t right here.
He arrived with no chick in hand but I later saw him chatting up Mode9...cute couple, don’t you think? Just kidding y'all...

Sizwe Mode9

Thokozani was also there, also no chick in hand. Eish, I forgot to tell him that he needs to change the hairstyle. Friendly dude though! He is one of the many acting professionals who have BEEF with the SAFTA nominations. More on that late.

Thoko

Thokozani, Sizwe and Siyabonga came in a mini entourage. Have you guys seen Siyabonga on Street Journal? OMG he is so gifted! To think he even writes his own script and if you watch SJ you’ll know that the script is ultra cool so I was kinda impressed when I heard he does his own thing.
Would love to get up close and personal with him....

Siya SJ

That means, I'd like to chat with him, you naughty!!

Kenya’s Wyre was there looking like his hair could do with a bit of moisturizer, damn even Vaseline petroleum jelly could work.

I know this gal is a rapper of some sort but am not sure what her name is...

Wyre

My highlight of the red carpet was YFM DJ & Singer Unathi Nkayi with her man, Bad Boy T from Metro FM. Are they gorgeous or are they gorgeous???
I love me some Thomas and I can’t help but be jealous of Unathi for getting such a hot brother. If anyone hears of a break-up, please let a sista know.
Come to think of it, he did give me “the look” after I took this picture.
He-he, joking Una, he’s a good catch though.

UnaTT

Catch him on Metro FM, weekdays from 12:00 – 15:00 or listen on www.metrofm.co.za . I think he and Lupi make such an awesome team, but then Lupi complements every DJ he works with. Remember him as Uncle on the YLens with DJ Sbu? Awesome!

Talking about DJ Sbu, who represented on behalf of all them BEE types in his Jigga magic attire (mmhh Jigga magic rhymes with Jika Majika, wow)...ummm where was I?
Oh, yes, DJ Sbu was really hot. I’ve always wanted to meet him but even though I had the opportunity, he looked kinda intimidating for lil poor me... so I let him be.

Sbuda

Heyi, by the way, did you guys hear that Friends like These contestants went to the press complaining about their “cruise prizes” turning into bus trips? More of that later...let’s get back to the awards...

UnaKB

Unathi was very friendly with KB when presenting their award maar bathong, does KB have to make it so obvious that he’s reading from the autocue?

Ike

Ike (pronounced eek-eh) Chukwu joined Dare on stage to perform his Ike Chukwu song and I was damn well singing along. I wonder if he was named Ike (as in Ike Turner) but changed it to Ike (eek –eh)?
I don’t know if the outfit worn by this woman is considered stylish but the hair was certainly only hott during the days of TLC’s “Waterfall”.

As I predicted, Weird MC took the Best Special Effects Award and almost took forever with the speech, which made me thank the almighty that there was no Rebecca Malope’s thank you speech to interrupt ala SAMA”s.

Zola Happy

Yho, Zola should give these people whatever he was having! Check out all these sombre looking faces...
I actually ducked here, thinking he was gonna throw the award back at us...

Zola Throw

Chomee did her thing and kept the guys drooling...

Jiva

Katung walked the red carpet alone and I wouldn’t have had it any other way. No Queen Ify in sight...

Kat

Joey doing stand up comedy...

Joeu

Camilla really affected KB in strange places..

Camila

Yay! I got Olisa to smile!!! He’s pictured with Gal Level’s manager, whose name I didn’t get. There was no time really with him asking everyone if they were from Drum magazine. Tough jobs managers have trying to promote their artists!

Oli

Zamajobe and her date, cute!

Zama

I’ve always thought Ntando is hott but this ain’t hot, or maybe he just didn’t feel like posing for a picture.

Dare2

Question Mark All Stars were all there in droves! Too bad Silver didn’t win anything though..
Dare collecting his award, red bow tie and all.

Laura Randall

Randall Abrahams pitched alone, Laura was very scarce on the night. She only presented this one award.

Proverb looking fly and polished...

Bridge Pro

Danny was like: “Damn, I can’t believe we did it”.

dannyK

Hip Hop Pantsula and Nkanyiso left a bitter taste in my mouth...

HHP

Best Newcomer, D Banj accepting his award, somebody tap Mr. Red Cap over there and tell him the award wasn't for him!!

DBanj

The Malaika duo were fabulously dressed, I think Tshidi is getting thinner and sexier each time I see her. What’s the secret gal?

So Kaya FM’s soon to be Metro FM’s Segale Mogotsi was the lucky guy that stole Katung’s Grace...
Does anyone know why awards are presented by a guy and girl pair?

Grace

Not to be outdone, Chippa did his thing and he arrived with such a hot sista!! Sori I didn’t get the pic.

Chippa

KB with Channel O’s General Manager, Yolisa Phahle in a “stomach out”...don’t you just love Kasi lingo!

Yolisa

Like Zamajobe, DJ Cleo also clinched his first award ever. He seemed kinda lonely without Brickz..

Cleo

Olisa looking more like Nonhle’s bodyguard than her co-presenter...

Olisa

kinda reminded me of David’s joke about a Nigerian priest who goes to church tired because he was a bouncer at a night club the night before...(eish sori guys, I feel like I’m spoiling it for you but please you have to watch if you can, David was superb).

Well, I guess my job is done. I did promise to give you the low down, that's it!

Much blogiwood lovies y'all!!
