Alex suspects Abigail is behind the reversal on the condemnation orders and confronts Shakira about this. Jay-Jay feels he is being cheated out of his family's share of the business.
Lefa requests to meet with Maletsatsi and Eddie to ask for permission to give Lolo a "promise" ring and show his commitment to their relationship. Mangi gets Daniel to agree he should be preparing for the PA job even though he hasn't officially started yet, which relieves him of his other work.

Abigail and Shakira make their move to put the squeeze on Daniel and Alex. Lefa summons up the nerve to ask Eddie and Maletsatsi for permission to give Lolo the "promise ring".
Jay-Jay expects Daniel to provide him with work opportunities, but Daniel insists Jay-Jay's advancement must be earned. Mmadika urges Morongwe to be more open and trusting in her marriage. After he finds out he's been outmaneuvered, a furious Daniel's out for blood.

Mangi gets a rude awakening when Daniel outlines what's in store for him in his new PA job. Alex reveals to Shakira that he knows Abigail is Laqhasha …and, to his surprise, she confirms it. Lefa asks Fana and Palesa for advice in order to get Eddie's blessing.
Abigail and Shakira try to stay one step ahead of Alex. Lefa tries to convince Eddie how much he wants to commit to Lolo, but Eddie thinks otherwise. Tino and Alex put aside their differences and become friends again, but only temporarily.

The showdown between Abigail and Daniel is interrupted by the discovery of a mysterious third force entering their personal battle. Mmadika draws Alex's attention to the fact that he's become so vacant in his marriage he can't even see Morongwe reaching out to him.
Eddie continues to resist Lefa's attempts to win him over, and Lefa is tempted to defy Eddie and give Lolo the ring anyway. Mangi is taking increasing strain, working for Daniel.

Alex has to talk Daniel out of rash action against Tino, who has unwittingly caused complications for Daniel and his plans. Impressed with Lefa's sense of integrity and respect over the weekend, Eddie finally gives him his blessing to give the ring to Lolo.
Jay-Jay's growing increasingly unhappy with his life and prospects, and Thato encourages him to expand his horizons. Mangi continues complaining about life as Daniel's PA, but he's getting no sympathy at all from those around him.

Jay-Jay is inspired to get his life together, and works on a new business proposal that he hopes will wow Daniel. In the wake of Lefa and Lolo's commitment to each other, Fana feels pressured to be more successful so that he can support Palesa.
Mangi finally manages to persuade Daniel to agree to the interview with "Triple T" magazine. Abigail makes Lolo a tempting new job offer that Lolo finds difficult to turn down. Despite Shakira's deal with Alex to avoid harming family members, Abigail is not convinced Daniel won't strike out at Tino.

Lolo's torn between staying in Jozi with Lefa and her family, or accepting Abigail's offer to run an RT's franchise in Durban. Jay-Jay's excited by the prospect of advancing up the NZH ladder, but Thato reminds Jay-Jay that Daniel hasn't made him any promises yet.
Daniel adds to Mangi's stress by encouraging Nadia to use Mangi as her temporary assistant. With the war between Abigail and Daniel escalating rapidly, Shakira suggests to Abigail that Daniel should be taken out ...permanently.

Morongwe and Alex drift even further apart, much to the delight of Abigail. Christy is shocked to learn Mangi answered the "Triple T" magazine journalist's questions on Daniel's behalf ...without Daniel's permission. Lolo finally summons the courage to tell Lefa volunteering at the community centre simply isn't for her.
A concoction of betrayal, jealousy, and over-confidence prompts Shakira to want to get rid of Daniel ...without first getting Abigail's consent. Jay-Jay meets with Daniel and is shot by a sniper ...taking a bullet meant for Daniel.

Thato almost can't bring herself to tell Jay-Jay he's tragically lost an eye as a result of the shooting. The NZH staff speculates wildly over the reasons for the shooting and Morongwe urges Daniel to contain everyone's fears. Lolo tells her family and Lefa about her new job opportunity in Durban, but she's faced with a mixed bag of reactions from her loved ones...
Shakira expresses her remorse to Abigail for being largely responsible for the tragedy that's befallen Jay-Jay. The heat generated by the shooting causes Daniel and Alex to receive an ominous phone call ...from the enigmatic Neo Mokheti.

Alex and Daniel desperately need Tino's building to make things right with Neo and for this Alex starts to "work" Shakira. Jay-Jay rejects Thato and the rest of the Nyathis for causing tragedy and heartache for him and the Zwane family. Lolo decides to take Abigail's job offer in Durban.
Instead of telling Lolo how he feels about this, Lefa turns to Palesa as a confidante. Mangi struggles to cope with the pressures of his new PA job, and Thato promises to speak to Daniel on her son's behalf. Alex reveals to Morongwe that he knows she killed Sakhani in cold blood.

In order to save their relationship, Alex finally comes clean to Morongwe about his involvement with Daniel's business schemes. Thato encourages Jay-Jay to rise above the tragedy of what's happened to him and to want to recover from the loss of his eye.
Lolo tells Lefa she's taking the job and wants him to move to Durban with her, but Lefa has other plans... Shakira agrees to remain silent and not alert Abigail so that Alex can approach Tino about selling his building to Daniel.

A conflicted Morongwe takes part in a cover-up plan regarding the shooting for Alex's benefit, and as a result diverts attention away from Daniel. Lolo and Lefa are desperate for their 'long-distance relationship' to work out. Jay-Jay bids farewell to everyone at NZH, determined to recuperate at his family's home in KZN and decide on his future.
Nadia deletes the e-mail she accidentally received concerning her work performance, but she's irritated with Mangi for sending it in the first place. Daniel wants Alex to find something in Abigail's past that they can use against her. He wants his revenge to be damaging and complete.

Shakira is consumed with guilt over Jay-Jay being shot. Abigail adopts a tough love approach to get her to snap out of it. Christy warns Tino about getting involved with Daniel, as to do so would inevitably lead to him coming off worse.
Lolo is determined that she and Lefa sleep together before she leaves, despite his reluctance to do so. Alex and Morongwe's bond deepens as they commit to teaming up against the outside forces threatening their family.

Morongwe makes a deal with Daniel to get Alex out of his operations in exchange for crucial information on Abigail. Lolo has her farewell party at RT's and finds it difficult to say goodbye to the people she loves.
Daniel comes down hard on Mangi for his negligent behaviour in the whole group e-mail fiasco. Christy forces Mangi and Nhlanhla to reconcile over their differences.

The tears flow as Lolo says goodbye to her family. She leaves to begin a new life in Durban. Alex suggests that Daniel takes over the running of the Kismet casino, but the proposal isn't as innocent as it seems. The bond between Tino and Christy grows stronger, until Tino discovers that Shakira is in trouble…
Maletsatsi and Eddie try to adjust to their empty flat, now that Lolo has gone. Alex tries to pull Shakira from the depths of despair and guilt over Jay-Jay being shot.

Eddie struggles to adjust now that Lolo is living in Durban. Lefa also misses Lolo, despite Fana and Palesa's best efforts to cheer him up. Alex shares an intimate moment with Shakira in his office ...but is caught out by Morongwe.
Abigail has an argument with Tino right before she leaves for Durban. Morongwe decides to go to Dubai without Alex ...giving him a final ultimatum.
