ArtchaPremiere date: Wednesday, 2 April 2008 at 20h00
Artcha is a new arts and culture magazine show that replaces Curious Culture.
The name of the show is inspired by the spicy South African condiment Atchar and refers to the idea that whatever meal life serves up, art is the Artcha that adds a full bodied, sizzling flavour to our South African identity.
It's presented by: actress and presenter Eloise Cupido (Kompleks), actress and independent film maker Anel Alexander (7de Laan) and actress, poet and presenter Masello Motana (Home Affairs).
Together the threesome will be known as the Artcha Angels. Each episode showcases a variety of all things arts and cultural in South Africa and inlcudes a comedy sketch featuring popular SA comedians.
In the premiere episode:
- A look at the South African Ballet Theatre’s production of Sleeping Beauty
- Top UK band Kaiser Chiefs visits SA
- We get up close and personal with the Artcha Angels, Anel, Masello and Eloise
- We take get to know top fine artist, Andre Naude
- Emo Adams - Cape Town’s hottest young talent!
- We visit the JHB Air Fair and chat to its organiser Ross Douglas.

The ordinary consumer often feels abused by retailers and service providers and isn’t sure how to address the situation or get a satisfying solution.
Hosted by TV presenter Dosto Noge, Speak Out aims to be the champion and the wake up call. The show sets out to challenge retailers and service providers on behalf of the person on the street and to investigate civic issues that currently affect us all, for example load shedding.
With strong investigative research behind them the team will expose bad service and show consumers how to handle such situations themselves.
One of the features in the show is “Hero and Zero of the Week”. In this section the show will look at service providers who have gone out of their way to provide exceptional service, the complaints that have been resolved in a way that is above and beyond the expectation of the consumer and those retailers or service providers who have failed to correct their mistake in any way at all.
This is a running total as it were and companies may find themselves as Zero of the Week for a long time if they are not careful.

The show's CGI effects provide a birdseye view of events, while the final episode brings together all the themes of the series and argues that Earth is an exceptionally rare kind of planet, giving us a special responsibility to look after our unique world.

Written by Jan Scholtz, Song Vir Katryn tells the story of a rocking doctor and a Cinderella with attitude.
Valiant Swart plays libertine medical doctor Jinx, who has his own band and makes his way through the world on his bike. When path crosses poor vixen waitress Katryn - who lost her work the night they met and hates all men - the pair find unexpected romance.
The series was created by M-Net and was broadcast on the channel in 2003.
