Minenhle Dlamini announces her departure from SABC1’s Mzansi InsiderOne of SABC1’s most colourful television icons, Minenhle Dlamini, will wave her final goodbye to Mzansi Fo Sho viewers at the end of August 2012.
Minnie, as she is affectionately known by her fans, took the difficult decision to resign from the actuality show in order to focus her energies on her other passion - acting.
She has been co-presenting Mzansi Insider alongside Phila Dlamini from August 2011 and feels she wants to now open herself up to other opportunities.
Minenhle made her debut on television in the year 2008 as a regional roving presenter for Spirit Sundae covering her home province of KZN. Her big television break came in 2010 when she joined the Friday night music show Live as co-presenter, after a marathon national auditions process.
"Growth and development is very important to me. I'm excited about the prospects in my future in acting and presenting. The viewer at home will definitely get to experience more of me," says Minenhle Dlamini.
”Minenhle will not be completely lost to the channel and to its viewers as we are in discussion with her regarding possible roles on channel. We will be in a position to announce full details as soon as the entire process is successfully finalized,” says Vukile Madlala, SABC1 Publicity Manager. “The channel is committed to providing the youth of Mzansi with a sure platform through which to express their natural talents.”
Minenhle's last appearance on Mzansi Insider will be on Monday 20 August 2012 and the new series of the show will kick-off on August 27th.
Viewers will be kept updated on all the developments regarding the channel and its programmes.
On Mzansi Insider this evening (Monday, 20 August 2012) …This is a special episode of Mzansi Insider where we bid farewell to Minenhle “Minnie” Dlamini. It is also the final episode of the current format as we know it.
Our behind-the-scenes insert takes a look at Mzansi Insider itself as we follow Minnie on a regular day of work from when she arrives in studio, does her briefing with producers, make up & wardrobe as well as rehearsals before the live show. Viewers will also get to meet the show’s other crew members, but this is not your regular behind-the-scenes insert, as the focus is more on Minnie.
Studio guest is presenter Kuli Roberts & our ghetto diary looks at the day in the life of Minnie.
A special insert which follows Minnie's journey from when she first auditioned for SABC1’s Live in 2010, her cameo role in Generations & her stint on Mzansi Insider. Mavusana has a special farewell he has put together.
