TVSA can exclusively reveal that
Noluthando Meje has been signed to
Isidingo and will make her debut later this month.
The pint-sized actress, presenter and Idols graduate, who's popularly known as Nolly Nolz, arrives as part of a new family who are being injected into the soapie.
Nolly plays Zukisa Kondile - opposite
Jet Novuka, who plays her husband Sizwe. The couple are from PE and move to Johannesburg in search of fulfilling their dreams, wanting a better life.
They have a son who they're forced to leave in PE because they don't have the financial means to take him with them. Their goal is to establish themselves so that they can send for him to be with them.
Enter Katlego Sibeko. Zukisa gets a job as the head domestic worker at the Sibeko's house and becomes the main bread winner of her family while Sizwe remains unemployed. And so their story begins.
We caught up with Nolly to find out how she feels about landing the role and discovered that it's something she's always wanted.
"I've always watched Isidingo, from when it started." she told us. "Yes, I was there when it started and now it's so weird that I get to be part of it.
"The odd thing is that when I got to Jo'burg in 2012, I kept e-mailing Karin van der Laag (Isidingo's casting director and Maggie). I was like, 'Hey, Karen, this is my CV, I've done Idols, I've done this and that, I'd really love to be on Isidingo. If there's any part, please can you consider my CV and contact me for an audition?'
"Then, two years later, I got a call for an audition via my agent and ja, I'm there now."
Nolly describes Zukisa as a very loving and dedicated wife and mother. Word from the production is that Zukisa and Sizwe's son will join them at some point in the future.
Nolly makes her debut on Monday, 28 April and Jet follows on the 29th.
