  Desperate Housewives On SABC3 Confirmed

After much speculation on the subject, TVSA can confirm that the hit dramedy Desperate Housewives will indeed be broadcast on SABC3.

The series will premiere on the channel on Monday 25 June 2007, at 21h00. It will replace the fourth season of CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, which is currently airing.

Season 2 of the show is currently airing on M-Net Series, and the third season premiered three weeks ago on M-Net.

Although the show has already aired on M-Net and M-Net Series, finally all South Africans have a chance to watch the top-rated show.

In case you're Rip Van Winkle and are still wiping the sleep from your eyes, the show is about all the dark little secrets and dirty laundry of Wisteria Lane - the suburban setting for Desperate Housewives.

The show starts when a young housewife kills herself. Through her eyes we see the lives of the other women on Wisteria Lane.

There's Bree Van De Kamp (Marcia Cross); an uptight woman who deals with the ugliness of alcoholism and vengeful children.

Susan Mayer (Teri Hatcher) is a divorcee and single mother who will go to unbelievable lengths for love.

Lynette Scavo (Felicity Huffman) struggles to hold together a job and family, which consists of hyperactive twin boys, a younger son and a daughter.

Ex-model Gabrielle Solis (Eva Longoria) has it all – a large house and rich husband. All she's missing is a good marriage.

Edie Britt (Nicollette Sheridan) is a free-spirited real estate agent with an interesting love life that keeps the lane buzzing with shock. She is Susan's worst nightmare and greatest enemy.

Desperate Housewives is the most popular show in its demographic worldwide, with an audience of 115–119 million viewers. The show is averaging around 328,000 viewers in its 20h30 time slot on M-Net.

I'm quite glad - never got to see the first season, and although I've been updated by friends it will still be good to see it all for myself..

Good choice SABC 3! I can't imagine how if just the other week the channel was still closing the deal and deciding to go with Desperate Housewives- that it has a Premiere date so quickly and we're still waiting on Prison Break's premiere date to be announced!!

That's all very nice and stuff for the many without M-Net but I'm sure many of them have already caught it without ad breaks and the whole one episode a week rule on DVD.

I'm a bit disappointed that 3 have left it so late with S3 in full swing already. The massive hype around DH happened 2-3yrs ago and its died down considerably since then. But ja, I'm sure it'll do well in that time slot :)
