TVSA can exclusively reveal that DStv's flailing M-Net Series Zone channel will be going through a major overhaul and refresh in the near future.
Word from a very reliable source is that DStv and M-Net are working on the problems surrounding the channel as we speak.
As you probably know, the channel's a terrible mess and has been since the M-Net Series channel split into
three channels in July last year. Compact viewers
lost favourite shows, the schedule became impossible to work out and the channel became valueless to all bouquets.
According to our mole, these issues are being resolved into a new, overhauled M-Net Series Zone channel. One of the big developments will be that the channel will no longer only consist of re-runs of series that have already aired on M-Net Series Showcase and Reality. The channel will have its own series instead.
This means that Compact viewers will have a structured channel with unique shows and Premium subscribers will score an extra channel of series.
Of course the ultimate test of the changes will be the shows that air on the channel. They need to be hott and happening to make Zone a worthwhile channel for everyone.
Watch this space. We'll keep you posted on developments.
