Gareth Tjasink - Model Doctor, Or The New Jeff Probst? |
TVSA has it on good authority that the Capetonian male selected to be the host of Survivor: South Africa is a model, reopening speculation about former Archer's Aqua guy
Dr Gareth Tjasink.
Two weeks ago there was speculation in the media that Tjasink - who is currently serving an internship at Chris Hani-Baragwanath Hospital in Johannesburg and playing the role of Dr James Cawood on M-Net soapie
Egoli - was one of the chosen contestants for the first ever South African Survivor.
Maybe he's not a contestant. Maybe he's the host.
On Tuesday 6 June Afrikaans newspaper Die Burger published a speculative story that Tjasink could be one of the contestants, after he told a colleague at the hospital he had entered the show to be a contestant, before suspending his internship for the rest of the year and disappearing without a trace, leaving a cryptic message on his cellphone that he was going to be "unavailable for quite a while".
Publicist Marcus Brewster couldn't confirm it and M-Net wouldn't confirm it, but the question must be raised again in light of this new information.
TVSA was told by a well-placed source that the host M-Net has chosen is a model, and either the entire Survivor production is being made up of models or Gareth Tjasink has a key role in it, either as contestant or host.
We'll keep you posted on any breaking rumours.
