A heads-up that the first Royalty Soapie Awards ceremony will air on SABC1 tonight (17 April) at 22h00.
The ceremony took place in Durban in March this year amidst a
broadcast fiasco. The organisers announced that it would air live on SABC1 on the night and claimed they had confirmation of the broadcast in writing. The SABC claimed there was no agreement in place and it didn't air. Now, over a month later, it's suddenly appeared on the schedule.
The awards have been founded by Generations star Winnie Modise and the winners were dominated by Mzansi Magic's isiBaya, which won the Outstanding Soapie category, the most prestigious category of the night.
