The Playboy channels have arrived on the South African TV scene after years of controversy surrounding them. As you may know, things have been touch, (lick!) and go with them as a result of various ICASA license issues.
All that's over now and StarSat (formerly TopTV) has officially launched the pay platform's first two adult channels: Playboy TV and Private Spice.
The two channels are launching as a separate subscription service on the StarSat platform so they have to be subscribed to as a separate package. The package itself is called Playboy Plus.
Both channels are operating between 20h00 and 05h00 daily and need to be accessed through double PIN technology so that subscribers are able to control who sees the channels. The price for the first two channels together is R159 per month.
The Playboy TV channel features adult content from different genres e.g. series, documentaries, reality shows, movies etc. If the YouTube channel's anything to go by it also includes naked exercise classes.

These first two channels launch now and more are going to be added in 2014.
