The ceremony was hosted by Neil Patrick Harris and delivered a series of snubs to British television - it seems the British accent wasn't regarded as cool this year. Only one Brit. invasion won an award - Abi Morgan, the writer of The Hour, won Outstanding Writing for a Miniseries.

The rest of the night went to American series with the most notable and deserved award going to Breaking Bad which won Best Drama in the countdown to it's series finale, coming up on 29 September.
