A unique bid process has been devised by Oracle Airtime Sales to find a sponsor for M-Net's upcoming reality show Survivor South Africa.
According to the channel the response to the news that a local Survivor is being produced has been "overwhelming" from potential advertisers. The bid process has been designed to ensure all advertisers an equal chance at securing the most coveted marketing opportunity on television.
Oracle will be offering all advertisers the sponsorship in a closed, private bid, which will be audited by Webber Wentzel Bowens. Bids must be submitted by 16 May.
"The closed bid concept gives advertisers a completely different opportunity to tap into the global Survivor phenomenon," says Oracle's Peter McKenzie. "This innovation is the fairest way to approach this sought-after sponsorship, as it gives all advertisers an equal chance."
Oracle will also be offering a separate headline sponsorship utilising the same bid process.
Survivor South Africa begins on Sunday 3 September 2006 at 18h00 on M-Net (during open time, meaning all South Africans can watch it) and runs until 29 November, when the sole survivor will win a million rand.
