SA's Got Talent Semi-Final line-up

The Top 18 SA's Got Talent finalist acts were revealed last week and the Semi-Final shows begin this week.

The first live Semi-Final takes place on Tuesday night (9 October) at 20h30 and the results from the evening will be revealed on Wednesday (10th) at 21h35.

Who'll be performing when? Here's a look at the line-up of the three Semi-Finals:

Semi-Final 1
Tuesday, 9 October 2012:


Tiego Ndhlovu

Age: 16
From: Gauteng
Act: Dancer and choreographer
About: Tiego lives in Atteridgeville, Pretoria and is in Grade 10. He says he gets his talent from his mom who was a backing singer for Zenzi Lee (Miriam Makeba’s granddaughter), lead singer for The Dalom kids’ and lead actor and dancer for the Theatrical UMOJA. Tiego admires Beyoncé and aspires to be like Jay Z. His biggest dream is to be Beyoncé’s choreographer one day.

Cameron and Donlynn

Age: 12 and 13
From: Cape Town
Act: Ballroom dancers
About: This young dancing duo are from Grassy Park and Retreat practise four times a week. Cameron was on Season 1 of SA’s Got Talent with a different partner and believes that Donlynn is much stronger than his former partner. They would love to represent SA in Germany at the world championships.

Rabbit and Bones

Age: 19 and 20
From: Gauteng
Act: Dancers
About: Rabbit and Bones a.k.a. Hugo and Ashley grew up in the south of Johannesburg and met when Hugo was a hair model at the salon that Ashley works at. Hugo attended President High School where he was a prefect and the head of arts and culture. As part of his duties he ran all dance, acting and poetry classes. Ashley started dancing at the age of 12, when he started krumping.

Sammy M

Age: 22
From: Limpopo
Act: Vocalist
About: Samuel, a.k.a. Sammy M from Ga-Mothiba in Limpopo had a troublesome childhood - his parents seperated when he was young and his dad has never played much of a role in his life. In his teenage years he suffered from depression and through that he found God, which has given him the strength to deal with many personal challenges. He started singing at the age of 12 and went from strength to strength.

Krinsky Brothers

Age: 11, 14 and 15
From: Gauteng
Act: Acorbats
About: The dexterous Krinsky brothers are from Berea in Johannesburg and spent their younger years travelling the country with their parents. Their cousins introduced these brothers to acrobatics and they have been performing as an acrobatic trio for the past 6 years. They practice daily and prepare a new act every year, which they enter into the annual acrobatic festival.

PJ Twins

Age: 19
From: Cape Town
Act: Opera singers
About: These identical twins from Bonteheuwel started singing at the age of five. They were raised by a single mom who was unemployed and they have been faced with poverty all of their lives. They've performed at a few corporate events and entered small competitions. With this income they're able to provide food for their family and have invested in getting suits made so that they are seen as more professional.

Botlhale Boikanyo

Age: 11
From: North West Province
Act: Poet
About: Botlhale Boikanyo, born and bred in Mafikeng, is 11 years old and the eldest of three children. She is in grade 6 and loves school and church. Her philosophy in life is “Education + Jesus = Success”. Her greatest ambition is to ‘change the world’.

Drumkit and Evo

Age: 24 and 23
From: Kwa-Zulu Natal
Act: Beat boxers
About: This beatbox duo from Umhlanga in Durban are eager to take their act to the next level. They have not really worked together before but they decided  to put an act together for the show to wow South African audiences.

Xandre and Finn

Age: 29 and 3
From: Gauteng
Act: Dog act
About: Xandre is a medical doctor who started training her family dogs when she was 13. Her mom bought her a border collie, Sam, who was a champion at jumping, agility and dancing. Sam died in 2007 and in 2008 Xandré got a new puppy, Finn. Finn started dancing as a puppy and took first place at the South African Nationals Dog Dancing competition this year.

Melanie Adams

Age: 44
From: Cape Town
Act: Vocalist
About: For 38 years, singer Melanie Adams from Mitchell’s Plain has been dreaming of becoming a star. Melanie and her family have had to overcome many personal challenges including the separation of her parents and losing their family home to a fire. Melanie is a mother to three children and two grandchildren and she works in telesales. Her greatest ambition is to eventually conduct a children’s choir and orchestra at her church.

Iziqhaza

Age: 29 and 25
From: Kwa-Zulu Natal
Act: Vocalists and musicians
About: Khanyisa Mbuthu and Mbongeni Mavuso met for the first time while training to be nurses during an assembly at their school in Madadeni. They were impressed with each other’s singing and became friends. They've been performing together for two years. They look up to the late Busi Mhlongo and claim to be her biggest fans. She also inspires their style of music. They haven’t had any vocal training which they feel sets them apart from many singers.

T-Squared

Age: 23
From: Gauteng
Act: Tap dancers
About: Tap dancing duo T-Squared consists of Nicole and Thulani who live in Soweto. The pair formed the act 2008 and both were interested in different things before tapping. Nicole was interested in the steel drums and Thulani was a pantsula dancer. Thulani taught Nicole how to tap dance. They've performed in a few productions at the Joburg Theatre and they performed at this year's SAFTAs.

Njabulo (Bulletman)

Age: 28
From: KwaZulu-Natal
Act: Rapper
About: A bullet rapper from Phoenix in Durban who claims he can churn out 25 words every two seconds. Njabulo has been into Hip Hop for the plast 14 years. He was a student of an MC by the name of Cat Chief who mentored him.

Luke Nhlanhla Greyling-Nxele

Age: 15
From: KwaZulu-Natal
Act: Dancer
About: Luke Nhlanhla Greyling-Nxele from Pietermaritzburg in KwaZulu-Natal was first introduced to dance by a friend who was trying to get him off the streets. He has been dancing for the past 5 years. Luke is disabled and does not want to be labelled as “that boy with the crutches”. Instead, he wants to be known as “the boy who made an effort for change”.

New Edition

Age: 16 - 44
From: Cape Town
Act: Gospel group
About: New Edition, from Delft in Cape Town, started performing about 11 years ago. The group first started with a few family members singing in a small church and then expanded because it’s members wanted to clean up the community and brought members to church.Some members are in school, some are unemployed and the rest work have general jobs.

Adam Ferguson

Age: 12
From: Cape Town
Act: Vocalist
About: A teen rock star from Durbanville who made his first public performance in Grade 1 for his school’s talent show when he sang “The Lion Sleeps Tonight”. More recently he sang at the Cape Town stadium in front of a huge crowd and received a roaring applause. His older brother inspired his interest in rock.

Domkop and Clowns

Age: 22, 29 and 43
From: Gauteng
Act: Puppeteer clowns
About: Domkop and Clowns are from Free State, Limpopo and North West and have been doing their act since 2010. Fikile needed to do something to earn an income so he decided to make puppets. He met Levy and Samuel and Domkop and Clowns was formed. They want to promote a clean and green lifestyle to the South African public and exemplify this by using recycled material for their puppets.

Girl Power

Age: 33 and 27
From: Gauteng
Act: Acrobat dancers
About: Sam Kotze (33) has been dancing since she could walk and received SA colours for freestyle dancing. She was told to stop dancing due to very bad scoliosis and had to wear a back brace for three years but refused to stop dancing. She is currently working for Madame Zingara. Kim Reeve (27) has been dancing since the age of three and has completed exams in ballet, modern, tap and acrobatics. Kim also had to face scoliosis.

I think musicians should leave this platform to other talents availabe out there.

there is already a lot f platforms  for them , your idols , sing gospels and xfactorss!!!

Let me see 1st Semis.....i think I will vote for rabbit & bone (eish I love Tiego too),others are also talented though

Botlhale my baby I hope you received a lot of votes last night you're such a marvel to watch and you just make me proud. I'm not sure whether I want you win though since I'm scared it might overwhelm you at such a young age. I'll vote for you none the less dear sweet little thing.
