Jeannie D will make her
7de Laan debut soon, in a once-off guest star appearance.
On Friday, 6 May, the soapie's
bad girl villain Gita McGregor will host a schmooze-fest cocktail party attended by the who's who of Die Laan.
In a twist of reality and
believable lies, Jeannie will at the party in her capacity as
Top Billing presenter, to interview Gita about her ambitions.
Jeannie's appearance will be preceded by a special 7de Laan insert on Top Blling, where everyone will be themselves. The insert will take a look at "A Day In The Life" of the soapie, with Jeannie dishing the behind-the-scenes on the show. It airs on Top Billing on Tuesday, 3 May.
What can we expect from the 7de Laan scene? Here's a sneak peak of the script between Jeannie and Gita:
3.3 COCKTAIL VENUE, NIGHT INTERIOR
JEANNE D (SPEAKS INTO TB CAMERA)
We are at the Northwing Hotel where we are attending a cocktail party to launch the latest travel packages of the hottest, hippest travel agency in Jozi, Hillside Travel. With me is the charming and glamorous owner, Gita McGregor. Gita, what was the idea behind this?
GITA
Jeannie, as you know the recession has hit all of us and we have to cut costs where we can.
JEANNIE D
I know. It’s terrible. Now I can only have champagne once a week.
THEY LAUGH.
GITA
The good news is, just because you can’t afford to go overseas anymore, doesn’t mean that you can’t have a wonderful, exciting holiday.
JEANNIE D
You are right. South Africa is a world in one country.
GITA
Exactly. We have everything: beaches, mountains, the bush…and Hillside Travel has a package for every taste, every age, every pocket.
JEANNIE D
And how about you - what’s your favourite South African destination?
GITA
There are so many. But if I had to pick one, it would be the Kamberg Nature Reserve in the Drakensberg. The rock art is possibly the best in South Africa.
JEANNIE D
It’s one of the few places I haven’t been to. I must go and check it out.
GITA
You won’t be disappointed. And if nature is not your thing, if you prefer the big city lights, we have packages to Durban, Cape Town and even Bloemfontein.
