The
Isidingo Talent Search has reached the final countdown of the search for a newcomer actor to join the soapie.
At the start of February,
SABC3 and
Isidingo began nationwide auditions for someone to play Ace - a new, lead character who arrives on the scene to do important things at OnTV!
The character brief for him: aged between 25 to 35, he's a former soccer star who joins OnTV! as a sports anchor. He's physically attractive in a sexy, masculine way and has the X-factor.
The auditions wrapped in Jozi on Friday, 19 February 2010 and between then and now the
panel of four national judges have been selecting the Top 5 contenders who make their TV debut this Thursday, 11 March at 21h00.
The hour-long TV event will introduce them, each will perform a scene as Ace and viewers can vote for their faves during the show (see voting details below).
The fivesome will be interviewed on
3Talk on Friday (the 12th) and the winner will be announced.
Thursday's special is being hosted by Isidingo's
Chris Beasley (Len Cooper) and their performances will be critiqued by three celebrity judges: Isidingo casting director and actress
Karin van der Laag (Maggie Webster), TV personality and columnist
Kuli Roberts and actor and director
Hlomla Dandala.
