The
SA's Got Talent Top 6 were finalised on Wednesday night (11 November) when the last two places were filled - by a young dancer and an opera-singing duo.
Twelve-year-old hip hop/contemporary dancer Kalon Badenhorst from Johannesburg and singers Willem and Louis van der Merwe from Stellenbosch were voted through to the grand finale in the last semi-final of the contest, on Wednesday night.
They join beatboxer George Avakian, guitarist Louwtjie Rothman, hip hop dancer Darren Rajbal and singer Cleo Filander in the final on Thursday night, where they stand a chance of winning the R250,000 grand prize.
Kalon Badenhorst received the most public votes and automatically went through to the final. The next two contestants with the highest votes were brothers Willem and Louis van der Merwe and "keke" horn player Gregory Mabusela.
The judges ultimately chose the singing duo. The gig was up for the remainder of the semi-finalists: all-girl hip hop dance crew Cadence; Ingrid & Yvonne and their ridiculously bad dancing dogs Ruby and Dezi (no bones for them tonight); singer Julian Hepburn; and juggler Louis Cason.
The Top 6 is thus as follows:
George Avakian (beatboxer)
Louwtjie Rothman (guitar maestro)
Darren Rajbal (hip hop dancer)
Cleo Filander (singer)
Kalon Badenhorst (dancer)
Willem and Louis van der Merwe (singers)
In Thursday night's final the Top 6 will perform for the public vote only - the judges have no say in who the ultimate winner is.
The SA's Got Talent Grand Finale will be broadcast live on SABC2 on Thursday 12 November from 19h30 - 20h30. The winner will be announced in the results show, from 21h30 - 22h00.
