On Motswako this Monday (12 April 2010):

Being a single mother in this day and age has become such a common situation that society often becomes insensitive to the realities of the effort and commitment it takes to raise a child alone.

Some mothers make the difficult decision of giving up custody of their children, while they try to build a life for their future. Nobuhle Mabaso, is a single mother, who knows all too well about surviving abuse, neglect and the ever-challenging role of being a single mother.

Tonight Penny chats to her about her journey to healing in which she's discovered that things often come together for the greater good.

Motswako is on SABC2 on Mondays at 21h00.

Wow...this episode is so sad. I pray for healing for this lady and his estranged little boy and that after the show she will start to rebuild all her relationships, lest her little boy be affected in future....
Crazy sad staff....

Big up to my mom for holding it down as a single mom...she did a great job and produced decent children....:-)

The show reminded me of this quote from T.D Jakes's Note easily broken:
Down through history men have always been measured by how hard they work and cultivated, how well they protected their wife and children. In the old days woman saw their man as conquerers, providers, heroes. But somewhere along the line that changed, woman started to became their own heros, maybe it was because their man forgot to be relic or because woman don't want to be protected anymore or maybe woman had to be their own hero because of the pain they had to endure in life. But whatever the cause, the world took away a man's reason for being a man. It told him he wasn't important anymore and when that happened, it turn the whole world upside down.

So much damage has been done to society,to individuals... I pray for healing and awareness.
