The M-Net Movies Premiere channel premieres four new blockbusters each Friday with the biggest blockbuster on Sundays (this also airs on M-Net).

In February the channel line-up includes Oscar nominees and winners in the build-up to the Oscars on 24 February.

A rundown of the premieres:

JUDY MOODY AND THE NOT BUMMER SUMMER
Friday 1 February at 18:30

Directed by John Schultz. Starring Jordana Beatty, Heather Graham (2011)

It’s summer time for a young girl and her brother. With the help of their fun loving aunt, they set out to make this the most exciting and eventful summer yet.

THE DESCENDANTS
Friday 1 February at 20:30

Directed by Alexander Payne. Starring George Clooney, Shailene Woodley (2011)

A man is forced to confront the issues in his life when his wife is critically injured in an accident. With his two daughters by his side, he makes his way through Hawaii tying up loose ends.

DREAM HOUSE (2011)

Directed by Jim Sheridan. Starring Daniel Craig, Rachel Weisz (2011)

A man moves his wife and daughters into a new home. They soon learn that the previous owner murdered his wife and kids in the house and he’s still at large, and possibly after them.

SON OF NO ONE

Directed by Dito Montiel. Starring Channing Tatum, Al Pacino (2011)

A young cop is assigned to work in the neighbourhood he grew up in. While there, bad memories and old secrets begin to threaten his career and break up his family.

HAPPY FEET 2

Directed by George Miller. Starring Elijah Wood, Robin Williams (2011)

Mumble meets a flying penguin and realises he has no chance at competing with him. That’s only the start of his problems though, as the world is threatened and the penguins must put things right.

A fan meets her silent movie idol, and is inspired to audition for a movie. She begins to rise through the industry but the popularity of talking-pictures marks the end for her idol’s career.

THE THING

A team of scientists discover an alien spacecraft and its inhabitant under the Arctic ice. As the ice melts, the creature begins to attack the humans, leaving only a paleontologist to end this.

DYLAN DOG: DEAD OF NIGHT

Directed by Kevin Munroe. Starring Brandon Routh, Anita Briem (2010)

A private investigator specialises in the undead. This time he must track down a dangerous artifact before a war ensues between his werewolf, vampire and zombie clients.

An elderly Margaret Thatcher looks back on her life, as she struggles to deal with the death of her husband Denis. His ghost appears to join her and comments on her successes and failures.
