The Malloys are gypsy traveling con artists who, after an unfortunate accident, are given a great opportunity to obtain the identity of a well-to-do “normal family.” Seduced by the idea of a bigger life for themselves, and armed with the keys to a new house in a posh neighborhood, they soon find that suburban life is more twisted and challenging than any of their previous stings.

The Bronx is Burning
Premiere date: Sunday, 9 December at 16h00

This eight-episode drama is adapted from Jonathan Mahler’s non-fiction bestseller about the tumultuous summer of 1977 and the New York Yankees, and will mark the 30th anniversary of the Yankees’ first World Series championship under George teinbrenner’s ownership.

The Bronx Is Burning tells the story of the fear and upheaval of the summer of 1977 in New York City which endured the brutal Son of Sam killings, the bitter mayoral race, a terrifying blackout and turmoil within the Yankees organization. This riveting movie allows sports fans to engage in a time and a team that forever altered the sports landscape.

State of Mind
Premiere date: Monday 10 December at 19h30

This quirky comedic drama series centers on the people who work at New Haven Psychiatric Associates, a rambling Victorian house-turned-office building for a group of therapists, a newly minted lawyer and a wisecracking office manager, all of whom have personal problems that rival those of their eclectic and offbeat clients.

Dr. Ann Bellowes, a brilliant psychiatrist, finds her life at a crossroads after she catches her husband, a fellow psychiatrist, having sex with their couples counselor. With her personal life suddenly crumbling, Ann begins to feel that she might be in as much need of psychiatric help as her patients.

Creature Comforts

Creature Comforts is a collection of comedic film shorts about animals who talk about various aspects of everyday life.

R u smarter than a 5th grader (Episodes 122-127 of the US version currently on M-Net Series)
Premiere date:  Sunday, 16 December at 18h00

In this contemporary reality series, Ordinary adults must try their luck at a series of questions targeted at the fifth-grade level. The adults will be asked questions from elementary school textbooks. There are five children as classmates that can help the adults through out the process. The contestants have the opportunity to answer 10 subject questions for 500,000 and one additional question to win a million dollars.

The adults have three cheats that they can use during the game Peek, Copy and Save. Peek is where the contestant looks at the child's answer and decides whether or not they want to use it. Copy is wear they must use the child's answer. Save is used when the contestant guesses wrong and the child guess right and therefore saves the contestant. All helps are only available once through out the game. Each child is only available for a maximum of 2 questions in a row.

Contestant can drop out at any time through out the game and leave with the money they have won. They must look into the camera and state, " I am not smarter than a fifth grader."

The program is hosted by comedian Jeff Foxworthy and produced by Mark Burnett.

Corinne Bailey Rae

This special focuses on the life and times of Corinne Bailey Rae. She was born and raised in Leeds, the oldest of three daughters to a West Indian father and a Yorkshire mother. At school, she studied classical violin to a high standard, but any ambitions to take this to a higher level were quickly scotched when the afore-mentioned Zeppelin adoration took hold. By the time she turned 15, Corinne was also obsessing over female-led, indie noiseniks like Veruca Salt and L7, and wanted to start her own band. And so she did. Its name was Helen.

Royal Variety Performance 2007

The Simpsons reside in the town of Springfield. “Homer” works as a safety inspector at the local nuclear power plant, “Marge” tries to keep the peace in her family, “Bart” is the mischievous 10-year-old hellion, 8-year-old “Lisa” is the intelligent, saxophone-playing, vegetarian member of the family, and baby “Maggie” conveys emotions via pacifier sucks. Viewers also have come to know and love the rich, and sometimes quirky, universe of characters who inhabit Springfield.

Gilmore Girls VII

Set in a storybook Connecticut town populated with an eclectic mix of everyday folks and lovable lunatics, Gilmore Girls is a humorous multigenerational series about friendship, family and the ties that bind. Thirtysomething Lorelai Gilmore has made her share of mistakes in life, but she has been doing her best to see that her college-bound daughter--and best friend in the world--Rory, doesn't follow in her footsteps. That may be easier said than done, considering that the two share the same interests, the same intellect, the same coffee addiction and the same eyes.
