A 10-part miniseries, based on the true stories of World War II marines follows the intertwined real-life journeys of three U.S. Marines across the canvas of the Pacific Theatre during World War 2.
The marines are: Robert Leckie (played by James Badge Dale), Eugene Sledge (played by Joe Mazzello) and John Basilone ( played by Jon Seda).
The three men and their fellow Marines are followed from their first battle with the Japanese on Guadalcanal, through the rain forests of Cape Gloucester and the strongholds of Peleliu, across the bloody sands of Iwo Jima and through the horror of Okinawa. The series ends shortly after V-J Day.
The series is produced by Stephen Spielberg and Tom Hanks.
