With all the talk in the past couple of weeks about Mika Stefano's Annual birthday party, one would have expected firecrackers and the works. Well....
It wasn't a bad party, but I was expecting more. Since the theme was Egyptian Swag, I was expecting to walk into the venue and be greeted by the Egyptian decor... but nothing. Fortunately, the guests who stuck to the theme reminded us that we were in "Egypt" minus the political turmoil.
With such an invite, you'd only expect the best. Right?
Then there was the Dj who was playing good music and then decided to go on a marathon by playing each track for a couple of seconds and moved right along. Even Khanyi Mbau was not amused:

Otherwise we had a good time, with Brutal Fruit slush in abundance and a lot of moments of laughter.

More of the Egypian Swag
Would you call this Egyptian-Mzansi Swag?

Phuti Khomo and Pabi Moloi. Pabi has lost a lot of weight and she looks great
Amunish was there hiding in his lil corner. He's such a cool dude.
This guy on the left was selling his Yung Stunna shirts. He's got good marketing skills, so I thought I should give him some publicity. There.
Lee-Anne was one of the acts who performed. I don't know if Kwesta who was also scheduled to perform made it. We left before he arrived.
(Hunger pang)
Mika's new trend is to eat biscuits (or was it hot wings) off half naked men for birthday celebrations. What has Kenny Sushi done to our future?
I wonder if any gender group or politicians will moan about Mika's stunt.

GROOVE ARMADA IN SAThe previous night we attended the Groove Armada event at Jet Lounge Northgate. It was a great do, with the London based djs killing it on the decks.
Groove Armada is made up of Andy Cato and Tom Findlay
What made the evening rather crazy, was two gigantic Twitter Fountain screens which filtered all the #GrooveArmadaInSA Tweets. This motivated people to tweet a lot of nonsense all in the name of fun and what a huge giggle it was, particularly since everyone in the club could read those tweets.
Actually, I would recommend more functions take that route.

Dj Tira came on after Groove Amarda and we hit the dance floor. Then it was Roger Goode’s turn.
We missed the Flash Republic performance, we were busy indulging in popcorn, lollipops, marshmallows and assorted drinks at the open bar. Call me slow, but it was my first time ever drinking an Ed Hardy energy drink, I didn’t even know it existed. Mmmh…
Yep. I didn't know about it until Saturday.
It was a great event with the majority of people at the function being VIP. Some patrons complained that Groove Armada played for too long. Well, wasn't the whole function about them coming to SA? Eish, some people...
