You do the math – Lost Season 2 starts in exactly a week, and I have only recapped the Pilot episode and episode 3. Eeep!! Sometimes, Life (and more often – work) gets in the way of things I want to do; so…owing to a reallllly hectic work schedule and guests at home (who will be staying till next Tuesday), I’ll be giving you the short version.

Episode 4 – Walkabout.

This is a Locke-centric episode. We discover that before the crash Locke was wheelchair bound, had a real bastard for a manager, had a thing for one of those sex-telephone workers, and was turned away from an Australian Walkabout because he was in a wheelchair.

Meanwhile, back in reality, a peaceful night is broken by baby piggies rummaging in the fuselage. Much more worrying is the fact that they had no food. Enter Attila the Hun (Ok! Ok! I know Attila hunted men more often than he hunted boars!). Locke finds his suitcase which conveniently contained his deadly looking knives.

He suggests they go hunting. Michael goes along – no doubt to prove to his son that he’s a “real” man, and Kate goes along too (Am I the only one noticing that she tags along everywhere???) with a transmitter that Sayid made. Michael gets injured, the radio breaks, Locke decides to hunt on his own.

Later, a large, rumbling sound comes from the border of a clearing as some trees are thrown from their roots. The monster runs “into” Locke. All he can do is stare at it, wide eyed and motionless. Kate assumes Locke was killed, but he winds up bringing a slaughtered boar back to the camp. When questioned what he saw of the monster, Locke denied seeing anything at all.

Episode 5 – The White Rabbit

This is a Jack-Centric episode.

We learn that Jack and his father were surgeons working in the same hospital. One night, his drunken dad botched up and Jack decided to cover for him, but couldn’t go through with it. His mum sends him (months later) go bring his father back from Australia, but Jacks gets there too late. His dad had died.

On the island, things have deteriorated drastically. Firstly, Boone had to be rescued from drowning (by Jack naturally) and an unknown woman drowns.

There’s very little water left. Jack doesn’t seem to care and goes off chasing a mirage of his father through the jungle, and almost falls down a cliff. He’s rescued by Locke who tells him that he “Can’t be crazy, because crazy people think they are getting better”

Jack eventually finds his fathers coffin (which is empty) in a cave, and lo and behold – is there not fresh water running merrily in the cave as well!

Elsewhere, all the water disappears, and naturally Sawyer gets the blame. But Boone was the culprit. Charlie and Claire’s bond grows deeper as well.

Episode 6 – House of the Rising Sun

This is a Sun-Centric episode.

Via flashbacks, we learn that Sun was a rich girl who married a poor boy. Jin was working for Sun’s dad and started changing after their marriage and comes home one night with blood all over his hands. Sun plans to leave Jin, but changes her mind at the very last moment.

Meanwhile, back on the island, Jack, Locke, Charlie and Kate (see what I mean about tagging along??) go to collect water from the caves. Kate and Jack discover two skeletons in the cave (that they promptly name Adam and Eve), along with one black and one white stone in a pouch. Jacks thinks it would be a good idea if everyone moved to the caves, so Sun, Jin, Hurley and Charlie and some others (who are not that important) move into the cave. The others remain at the beach.

Locke confronts Charlie about his Heroin addiction and Charlie swaps his last bit of heroin for his guitar. Jin attacks Michael for no apparent reason. Sun follows Michael discreetly and speaks to him in English! Oooh! Didn’t see that one coming, did you, Michael? She tells him that he has her fathers watch and Jin thinks he stole it from their luggage. Michael found it lying around and gives it back to Jin, who has been cuffed to some wreckage.
