IDOLS 4: Top 3

What more can be said after performances like that? I loved every single sweet note.

Each one of them are deserving winners, masters in their own field.

Andriette is soulful; Jody a pop idol and Munro a true rock star.

What I love most about this particular Idols is that there was no clear winner from the very beginning, no runaway contestant. Also the fact that we can see how each of them have grown. Truly amazing.

We were all sceptics, weren’t we? I know that on more than one occasion I had said that their performances had not moved me, but tonight I was moved. By all of them.

They all came out with guns blazing and I suppose we have to wait for the dust to settle before we can see who the last man (or woman) standing is.

I’m hard pressed to find a clear favourite song for each of them - all of them had exceptional moments in all their songs. Making it very difficult for anyone to judge.

My favourite from the very beginning has been Munro, so I will continue to vote for him. He has stage presence second to NONE plus he has a unique style and voice.

 munro - top 3

And he showed that rockers are multi-dimensional too. His Tears From Heaven was superb. While one could fault his vocal range here and there, you cannot fault his performance. He truly LIVED that song, he sang it with feeling and meaning and I could feel every word he sang. It’s no wonder Dave and Mara were moved to tears.

Andriette and Jody also delivered goose bump moments, in spades!

Andriette’s take on Loving Arms was simply awesome too. It’s a song that has been redone a quite a few times and I loved the arrangement she chose. It’s not everyone who can take up such a well known song and make it their own. My fave for her though had to be Walking In Memphis. The moment she sang those first few notes, I knew she was going to bring down the house. She might not have the stage presence of Jody and Munro but she sure kicks some serious vocal butt!

andriette top 3

Jody’s best performance has to be Aint No Other Man. She looked sexy and sultry, pulling out the right dance moves and singing those notes (and words) with ease, that anyone will find difficult to do. Such confidence! WOW, she really has grown in these last few weeks. Dance With My Father was also awesome wasn’t it?

jody - top 3

Munro’s Born To Be Wild was the perfect way to end the show, I was just sad it had to end at all. And I am sad that one has to leave.

This week I am going to take the coward’s way out and not say who I think is going to leave. Because, cheesy as it is to say it, they really ARE all winners.

I want to see Munro win off course, but if either of the ladies take it, I know I will not be disappointed.

The only thing left to say now is VOTE, VOTE and then VOTE again.

One has to leave tonight, so make sure it’s not your favourite.

PS: did anyone else catch Yummy Colin screaming out my name?? Not once but twice!!!! OK NEARLY screaming it out loud. It’s AMAZINGLY Colin, not amazing… find a way to fit it into your script OK?

Haha Ama, no I must admit I did not notice him calling out your name.LOL

For me I have to say I'm going to climb back on the Jody bandwagon and vote like crazy for her, she was brilliant last night in her 2nd and 3rd songs.

I want Munro and Jody in the finals, Andriette bores me to tears, yes she can sing, yes she's very very good but she does not come near to entertaining the crowd the way Jody and Munro does, she does not move me at all.

Hi everyone, there is a little bit of something in what you are all saying.  Thing is (and once again dont lynch me!)  Andriette is TOTALLY AND COMPLETELY FABULOUS!!!  She gives me goosebumps, and brings a smile to my face.  Jody, sweet little Jody.  she is SO popular, but what worries me is those little teeny boppers who scream and shout and vote on mxit, are going to grow up, and when Britney or Christina or Rihanna bring out a new hit poor little Jody is going to be forgotten.  for that not to happen she will have to keep up with these pros that have been at it for so long.  i have 2 teenagers at home, one 17 and one 15 and i was told last night "mom, she has to be as good as Beyonce and shes not".  maybe my children are as narrow minded as me, but this is the fans that she will attract and it will be shortlived unless she "haals uit en wyses" and i dont think she is mature enough or has the staying power to do it.  MUNRO, MUNRO, MUNRO!!!  Young, middleaged, old - they are ALL rocking when Munro takes the stage!  as i said before, by FAR not the best vocals but captivating the audience is what it takes!  Jody singing the songs she sings, yes she gets the audience but how much of it is because they know the song?  Give her a song that nobody has heard, and how will everyone react??   She is a singer, which a beautiful sweet voice, Like Catherine McPhee, but she is a sh*t entertainer.  i would TRULY love andriette to win, because i have honestly liked her from the begining, but Munro is an idol, through and through!!

Hi All.
M’gonna have to punch the tyre on this one. I’m still sulking over Tender’s brutal dismissal from the show last week. How the public views Jodi (Unripe, prudish & infantile) to Tender's (Developed & durable) voice and personality is beyond me. Tender has diva qualities that Jodi will only dream of. She’s powerful, well-spoken, approachable and clearly a much more advanced singer & performer that she outshines even artists that are already in  the industry! Jodi irritates, has an nauseatingly squeakish voice and her timidity makes me want to hurl! Whoever wins will be a case of, ‘ same script different cast’ in relevance to Anke & Karyn! SA public did it wrong....AGAIN!

Noted, did you see Jody's Ain't no other Man performance? Nothing timid, shy or infantile about it.
I agree that in the beginning i also thought she was abit too young - but she has definately grown and I should have said that if anyone in the TOP 4 won, it would be great.
We can't blame the public for liking who they do. People's tastes are different and if enough fans are voting for Jody, well that's her luck. fans can't complain if they DONT VOTE.
But - the rest deserve to be there as well.
They can all sing, that's a given. how BMG care to groom them afterward, now that's a new topic entirely.

LOL @ Ama!  I'm sure I nearly heard him :-))

The final three are fantastic.  Wow!  I thoroughly enjoyed the show last night.  It had to be my favourite yet.  Let's hope the finally lives up to the same high standards.

Jodie has really improved in the last three weeks.  She doesn't seem to be screeching like she use to and it is great to see that she has putting into practice the advice she has received from the professionals.  Saying all that, she does absolutely nothing for me and I don't think I would bother to buy any of her CD's.  She is one of the same old same old again and I have to agree with noted about the Anke/Karin thing.  Hopefully if either Jodie or Andriette win BMG will take note of passed Idols and do something different with them.

Andriette is beautiful and her voice gives me goosebumps.  Unfortunately she has the stage personality of a dead fish (IMHO of course).

Which brings me to Munroe.  I love this guy purely because he is bringing something new to Idols.  As most peeps have said already, his vocals aren't as good as the girls but they're not that bad and as far as I'm concerned he is the complete package.  I have been voting like crazy for him so I hope he makes the finals at least.

Who will go tonight ... yikes, that's a tough one.  It will be between Andriette and Munroe.  Jodie will make it through as it is quite obvious that her teeny bopper fan base is huge.

Noted - I loved Tender myself, but is she a pop idol?  She is going to be so huge anyway.  Idols has given her her stepping stone and I'm sure she has signed a contract already.  I'm a great believer in things happening for a reason and I think if Tender had won, she would have felt stiffled.  She's a Diva not an Idol.

All i know is that Munro is the idol i have been waiting for. I can see myself buying his CD. He really is a breath of fresh air. I see him doing 10 x better than Heinz and Anke and Karyn. he is a great performer, so what if he doesnt have the best voice, HE IS A ROCK STAR!!!!

Andriette does have a great voice but will it sell?? she reminds me of Anke.

Jody is still young and has a bright future ahead of her. She has done very well. but i think tonight is the end of her idols journey.

I agree with Andy,  Tender was never a pop idol. If she won it would have stiffled her soulful voice. She's going to be so big and Idols gave her a platform.
I didn't watch last nights but I'm a fan of Munro. Not because he's an idol but because he rocks! Period. I don't want him to win because I don't want him to be a pop idol (he's a true rocker and this will definitely stiffle him).

I missed the performances last night but I'm an Andriette's fan for life! She has the most amazing, rich, soulful voice on the show.....I would really love see her win....!

Ok, so apparently I lied.
i do give a crap about who leaves tonight.

Munro was supposed to be there in the top 2, dammit!

I can't count the number of times I voted. Everytime i thought about the competition (which was ALOT) I voted. Multiple times.

YES, the other 2 are as good but it sure sucks when your favourite leaves!

It's maybe a good thing i didn't get to watch the result show - long story which involves THE VCR, traffic, the pouring rain and drivers from hell. Then before i can switch on the (BLANK) tape to watch the show, someone blurts out who left and i was heartbroken.

And i didn't even get to see Yummy Colin and the shout out he was supposed to give...

@Amazingly. Maybe was good u didn't watch live. I think u would have felt tortured. Colin really upped the ante on tension and kept Munro and Jodie hanging and hanging ... and hanging ... so much so that it seemed as if they went into some altered state of mind. Munro looked like he was muttering to himself, and Jodie looked like she'd buffered herself in anticipation of a meltdown ::::::: Andriette was announced as a finalist a while ahead of the other two. When Colin finally got round to saying it was Jodie, it seemed like she stood there blankly forever, like she really couldn't absorb it. Sorry, girl. Feel 4 u ...

Thannx Meme J.
I would have been finished for sure!
Only a few more days left for the finals and i wasnt going to vote but decided to do the right thing... for the home stretch i'll be supporting Jody.
