Idols Season 9 kicks into full gear this weekend when the newly-announced Top 10 perform in their first Spectacular at the Moreleta Park NG Church Auditorium in Pretoria, and add their own flavour to some of the cheesiest hits to ever hit the airwaves.

Yes, the musical theme for the Top 10 Spectacular is “Cheese” - and even the stern Idols judge Randall Abrahams gets in the spirit of things, wearing the cheesiest board shorts you’ve ever seen!

There are also brand new voting numbers for the Top 10 contestants which they will keep for the duration of their stay in the competition.

Brenden Ledwaba [@brenden_praise] chose “You Sexy Thing” by the band Hot Chocolate, from the movie “The Full Monty” and his new voting number in 01.

Crystalene Nair [@CrystaleneNair] will be singing Céline Dion’s “Because You Love Me” and her voting number is 02.

The new voting number 03 belongs to Innocent Mabushe [@innocentmabushe] and he is singing the Chris de Burgh ballad “Lady In Red”.

Benjamin Tainton [@BenjaminTainton] is singing Bryan Adams’ “Everything I Do” and Ben’s new voting number is 04.

The youngest contestant in this season’s Top 10, 19-year-old Zoe Zana [@zoe_zana] now has the voting number 05 and she is singing the 80's hit “Never Gonna Give You Up”, by Rick Astley.

Sonke Mazibuko [@sonke_mazibuko] chose the cheesy Air Supply ballad “All Out of Love” and his new voting number is 06.

Tumi Lesenjane [@mizzt100] now has the voting number 07 and she chose the Berlin ballad from the movie “Top Gun”, “Take My Breath Away”.

Bunny Majaja [@BunnyMajaja] will be singing the Barry White classic “You’re The First, The Last, My Everything” and her new voting number is 08.

Musa Sukwene [@musathevoice] now has the voting number 09 and he’ll be giving the Idols audience some of Marvin Gaye’s “Sexual Healing”.

And last but not least is Christina Williams [@_c_williams] singing the upbeat hit “Walking On Sunshine” from Katrina and the Waves. Her new voting number is 10.

Hmm this week will certainly distinguish the good from the great. A few of the songs already seem like the wrong choices for some, but I'm excited to see how they'll do.

i guess we can all agree that mzansi magic channel has changed the landscape of idols, now we got a lot of blacks voting and for the second time we might have a black idol. please don't kill me for throwing in the color thing (i hate doing that myself) but just thinking!!!

the girls are all good i must say. in the boys group brenden (he might win the competition) and sonki do it for me.

while i think all the girls are good, bunny and crystalene are real good but Christina is damn good!!!

I love Zoe's voice. Musa doesn't have the sex appeal to sing that song..I hope it won't be too awkward, I hope I don't cringe too much. lol

Musa, Sonke and Innocent were my favourite performers. These boys are mega talented, they were such a pleasure to watch. Zoe on the other hand was just plain disappointing; great look, terrible singing. And how nice was Randall? Had to pinch myself a couple of times cause I thought I was seeing things.

Innocent...just reminded me why I love music....I would go to his live concert just to hear him sing. Sonke sang and I cried, that's how touched I was by his performance. I am voting these 2 this week because they were heads above the rest. Brenden, Musa and Bunny also performed well but my star performers were Innocent and Sonke.

Innocent wowed me yesterday im soooo voting for him every hour. Zoe impressed me with Fantasia song the other week i kinda like her now so i'll forgive her for yesterday's perfomance and vote for her too. Otherwise Sonke and Musa did well too.
