Here's who'll be singing what amongst the twelve finalist girls on Idols this Sunday (18 September, 2007)

From the press realease:

Andriëtte Norman (20) from Brackenfell sings “Love The One You’re With”, the Luther Vandross classic.

Belinda Cherry (25) from Pietermaritzburg chose The Pretenders’ of grrrl power anthem, “Brass In Pocket”.

Carla Louw (20) from Moreletta Park in Pretoria goes all jazzy with “L.O.V.E”, as performed by Natalie Cole.

Caroline Borole (22) from Mondeor in Johannesburg isn’t afraid of Beyonce’s huge anthem from the movie Dreamgirls, “Listen”.

Dominique Burger (16) from Kempton Park takes on Christina Aguilera’s Forties-inspired “Candyman”.

Duduzile Ndlovu (27) from Randburg puts a whole new spin on the Abba classic “Waterloo”.

Heidi Booysen (19) from Bothasig in the Cape is “Holding On To Love” – one of Shania Twain’s signature bouncy county-pop hits.

Jackoleen Aasvoël (18) from Delft in the Cape might have entered on a dare, but she declares her will to win this competition with Mary Mary’s gospel anthem “Can’t Give Up Now”.

Jody Williams (17) from Milnerton in the Cape takes a classic approach with Céline Dion’s “The Greatest Reward”.

Liza Brönner (17) from Centurion is performing that wonderful Eighties standard, Bonnie Tyler’s “Total Eclipse Of The Heart”.

Tender Mavundla (25) from Gamalakhe near Port Shepstone is going with George Michael’s “Careless Whisper”, as reinvented by Tamia.

And Yolanda Nabo (27) from Yeoville in Johannesburg gets all soulful with Corinne Bailey Rae’s “Put Your Records On”.

Voting for the girls will open at the start of the show on Sunday [23 September] and viewers can vote via landline by calling each contestant’s unique voting number, by SMS by sending their name to 34680, MXit or on the Idols website at www.mnet.co.za.

The voting lines will close just before the end of Monday [24 September] evening’s live Results Show. Five girls will be eliminated on Monday night, after the judges’ and the public vote have been counted.

I fear for Caroline singing Beyonce's "Listen", its too soon to take on such a big song, yet she's a fantastic singer who might just pull it off. Dudu and Waterloo, seem so wrong for her.

Mara's first comment to Belinda had something to do with her looks, and that came right after Belinda told us Mara has something against her looks etc, well, I agree that she can't sing but what's Mara's issue with the gal being HOTT??

I think Caroline and Jodi are the real contenders in this competition with Tender coming a distant third. I just hop the viewers get it right and not vote based on looks alone.

Yay for Mxit voting, we get 10 chances to vote on Mxit, so get voting people, only 1 hour left.
