Loretta is swept away in a melody of love.

Charlie Babbitt (Tom Cruise) never knew he had a brother until his estranged father left his entire fortune to him. Suffering from autism, Raymond (Dustin Hoffman) has an excellent memory but very little understanding of the subject matter.

Charlie kidnaps Raymond from a home in order to get half of his money but instead ends up learning a whole lot of patience.

Kathy Bates plays psychotic Nurse Annie Wilkes whose new patient is her favourite novelist, Paul Sheldon played by James Caan. But when he kills off her favourite character, Misery in his new book, she becomes his captor.

Annie forces him to burn his latest book and write another one in which he brings the character back to life.

Tagline: This Christmas there will be ... Misery.

1991 Oscar win:

Kathy Bates won for Best Actress In A Leading Role making Misery one of only three horror films to win an Oscar in the history of the awards.

Fun facts:

Jack Nicholson was offered the role of Paul Sheldon before it went James Caan. He turned it down because he didn't want to do another Stephen King movie after The Shining - it terrified him too much.

Stephen King's first typewriter had a missing "N" in the same way Paul's does.

Dances With Wolves (13 SV)

Kevin Costner plays Union Army Officer, John D. Dunbar who's sent to a deserted post along with his only companion - a lone wolf. He discovers there are Indians living in the region and amongst them a white woman. Dunbar finds himself drawn into the lifestyle of the Sioux-Lakota, learns to speak their language and is eventually faced with fighting a battle for their survival.
