e.tv and eNews Channel would like to congratulate 3rd Degree producers Lindile Mpanza and Mukelwa Hlatswayo on scooping the prestigious Discovery Health Journalism Award in the TV category. The awards took place in Sandton On Monday night and acknowledged exceptional journalism across various media platforms.
“3rd Degree has built a solid reputation of shining light and exposing injustice and this is achieved through the hard work and dedication of our team. Lindile and Mukelwa are both extremely passionate and hardworking, and this comes through in the quality of work they deliver,” says Debora Patta, 3rd Degree’s Executive Producer.
Lindile and Mukelwa were both recognised for their story “Hospital Horrors”, which unearthed truths on South Africa’s deteriorating healthcare system and explored the reasons that the system is failing to deliver.
“3rd Degree is a consistent award winner because the team has the courage to tackle the difficult stories affecting ordinary South Africans. In many cases these stories may never have come to light had it not been for Debora and her hard working team,” says Patrick Conroy, eNews Channel Group Head.
“e.tv is extremely proud, the production team continues to push the envelope of investigative journalism,” says Monde Twala, e.tv Group Head. “We are confident that the 3rd Degree team will continue to excel and deliver world-class current affairs programming for South African audiences.”
