The search for two new LIVE presenters has moved on to the second phase of auditions, starting with castings in Jozi this past Saturday (18 February) where over 3000 hopefuls auditioned.
The
search began at the beginning of February with hopefuls uploading audition videos to SABC1's website. Everyone who registered will now be receiving an SMS to confirm their audition in the flesh as the show moves round the country.
After the Jozi auditions, the crew went on to the Bat Centre in Durban on Monday (20 February) where more than 1000 aspiring presenters went through the process. The judging panel consisted of Bonang Matheba, Sjula Dlamini (Producer), Dichaba Phalatse (SABC1) and Andile Mncube. They were assisted Zakes Bantwini and Generations’ Khethiwe Ngcobo.
Confirmed: SABC1 has confirmed that two presenters will be cast: 1 male and 1 female.
The next stop is Bloemfontein this Saturday (25 February) followed by Mpumalanga on Monday (27 February).
The show then moves to Port Elizabeth on 3 March and wraps the search in Cape Town on 5 March.
So far the judges have shortlisted 165 promising hopefuls. The six participating regions will produce the Top 24 (4 aspirants per region) who will be taken through a rigorous internal judging process. This selection process will culminate in the Top 4 candidates.
The Top 4 will receive call-ups to Jo’burg and be introduced nationally on the show, were they will each be given the chance to showcase theirpresenting skills and to impress viewers. Voting lines will be opened up for viewers to have an input in choosing their preferred candidates.
The two winners will be revealed at the end of March.
