Miss SA 2012 Marilyn Ramos
The
Miss South Africa competition's going through various changes this year, most notably: it won't be happening at the end of the year.
The pageant has officially been moved to March, 2014 instead. As you probably know, it always takes place towards the end of a year which means that it clashes with Miss Universe. Also, many countries do the pageant at the start of the year so organiser Sun International decided to make the change to accommodate these factors.
Current Miss South Africa Marilyn Ramos will continue wearing her crown until the new Miss SA takes over.
Another big change is the addition of former Miss South Africa Melinda Bam as a mentor/ambassador of the competition. Melinda's been appointed as National Executive of a company that's been created to enhance the competition which means that she's involved in each step of the process. One of the things she's been doing is advising on the do's and don'ts of entering.
