SABC1 has put out a casting call for presenters for the channel's lifestyle magazine show Ses'khona.
The castings are for two presenters to host the upcoming new season of the series and auditions take place in three venues: Johannesburg, Pretoria and Nelspruit, starting this weekend, on 11 June.
What they're looking for:
- a male and a female presenter aged between 18 to 25
- must be able to speak Swati and Ndebele
- must be funky, sexy, trendy, a youth leader, have authority and presence and be authentic
- must be interested in the entertainment industry and know a lot about popular youth culture
Candidates must:
- Take along your ID
- Prepare your own script, with an opening and a closing to it i.e. must be well structured

Johannesburg
Date: Saturday 11 June 2011
Venue: Garden Court, Milpark
Times: 08h00 to 17h00
Pretoria
Date: Saturday, 18 June 2011
Venue: Protea Hotel, Vandervalt Street
Times: 08h00 to 17h00
Update! ... the audition venue has changed to: Court Classic Pretoria. The address: the corner of Schoeman and Beckett Street, Arcadia, Pretoria. The times remain the same.
Nelspruit
Date: Saturday, 25 June 2011
Venue: Nelspruit Orion Hotel, Samorah Machel Drive
Times: 08h00 to 17h00
A panel of judges made up of one celebrity judge per region, an SABC1 representative and the producer of the show, Phuthi Ngwenya, will be at the auditions to do the selections.

oh ho. You go gueue in this cold weather and they fix the votes. No thank you. Minnie was supposed to replace Bonang and she is still an extra on LIVE and that Selimathunzi thing with Lunga who is just a pain to watch cos he possess no presenting skills at all let alone some confidence in having a conversation with people. SABC 1, is a total bore.

i would love to attend the auditions, but i'm discouraged cause it seems like the new presenters are already known and the auditions are only done because of compliance not because fresh talent is needed.
