  Calling all gospel singers

As broken by TVSA last month, SABC2 is bringing back its popular reality singing competition I Want to Sing Gospel for a second season, premiering on the channel on Sunday 17 July, at 20h00.

The competition, which is the brainchild of music company executive and talent scout Lindelani Mkhize, kicks off with the countrywide auditions on 1 June, with the aim of showcasing 30 of the best singers for 13 grueling weeks in Johannesburg.

This is where the contestants will have to prove to Mkhize why he should turn one of them into South Africa's next gospel singing sensation.

The music genius and prodigious producer behind the SAMA-winning Joyous Celebration, Mkhize - together with his panel of weekly guest judges - will be faced with the difficult task of searching for the next gospel star.

The show will once again be hosted by renowned gospel artist Thabo Mdluli.

The first season of I Want to Sing Gospel saw Durban-born Lungisani Ntuli walk away with R100,000 in cash and a recording contract with Lindelani Mkhize Entertainment in 2008.

This year it could be you - or someone you know. If you think you have waht it takes, here are the audition details you need to know:

Where is my reference number? What does it's Gospel Time have to do with I want to sing Gospel. My very last R1,50 is gone...
