Over the past three months DStv's Channel O has been on a search for Gauteng's hottest urban dance crew in the channel's annual dance competition.
The competition launched on Sunday 8 March, 2009 - at the same time as the debut of Gauteng Basketball League.
Two rounds have been completed so far: the first at The Grace Bible Church Sports Arena; and the second at the UJ Soweto Campus, where the ESPN Celebrity Basketball Extravaganza was hosted.
The third round will be held at the State Theatre in Pretoria on
Saturday, 27 June 2009 and entries are open for group's who'd like to enter to compete.
How It WorksThe rules for entry: any dance crew that has a minimum of five members can enter. You can perform any dance style and be of any age.
There are 6 rounds in total to the competition and the Top 8 groups (6 winning groups plus two crowd favourites) will go through to the Finale.
The winning group from each round wins R5000, as well as automatic entry into the Finale showdown of the 2009 season - date to be confirmed closer to the time.
Group's that have already performed in previous rounds of the competition also re-compete in each follow-up round so that each group gets another chance to make it through to the finals if they didn't make it in the previous round.
Among other things, the judges will be looking for: cohesion as a group, creativity and costume. They'll also base their judging on how well the crowd responds to your performance.
