Coming up on Sunday's Carte Blanche:

Disappearing Dockets

“Missing dockets” seem to have become the norm within our criminal justice system, often resulting in justice being denied or delayed. In 2004, Carte Blanche showed how easily dockets were made to “disappear” from police stations. Authorities promised that “heads would roll”. But, five years on, little has changed, as this Carte Blanche investigation shows.

Presenter: Derek Watts
Producer: Nguni Productions

Use It or Lose It

Lulu Xingwana had a fearsome reputation as Land Affairs Minister and thought nothing of paying surprise visits to the recipients of farmland who were using it unproductively. “Use it or lose it” was her motto, despite the lack of support forthcoming from her department to emerging farmers. But then she took on frustrated farmer Veronica Moos and met her match.

Presenter: Bonita Gorrie-Nuttall
Producer: Susan Puren
Journalist: Lindile Mpanza

Justifying the Jackal

Daring night raids by jackals are many a stock farmer’s nightmare and often lead to drastic measures. It’s an ongoing conflict, and one that has fascinated wildlife filmmaker-conservationist Rob Harrison-White. After years of research, he thinks he may have come up with a solution. Can farmers be convinced? Carte Blanche finds out.

Presenter: Derek Watts
Producer: Bernadette Cook

British Lions

The first game between our Springboks and the British Lions was played at Newlands, way back in 1891 when rugby fields were little more than gravel roads. Now the turf is soft and green and traditional tours of yesteryear are long gone, but the competition is no less intense. With the first test imminent, Carte Blanche speaks to captains of bygone tours and recalls matches that had rugby connoisseurs salivating.

Presenter: Derek Watts
Producer: Liz Fish
Journalist: Quereshini Naidoo

Carte Blanche is on M-Net on Sundays at 19h30.
