Claire and Zach

We pick up two weeks after the previous episode to find out that Union Wells High is about to reopen, Claire has convinced HRG that she remembers nothing, and Zach still doesn't believe Claire's stories. Considering that Zach bought Chandra Suresh's book on the internet, there should be a record of the purchase which should make him suspicious, but I guess that's one of those things we're not supposed to question (OOTTWNSTQ).

Claire meets with the Haitian, and tells him that she wants to do something, in particular talk to Peter. The Haitian says that he's being watched, and if she tries to contact him, they'll realise she still remembers.

The Haitian is clearly up to something, and I wonder if this is an indication that HRG's control is slipping. First there was Eden acting of her own accord, and now we see the Haitian disobeying HRG.

Claire convinces Zach to tape her once again, and we see a repeat of the scene from the first episode of her jumping off the tower. So it looks like the two of them are back in business again.

DL, Niki and Micah

Following Niki's arrest, the charges against DL have been dropped. He has also contacted Linderman, and returns the money to one of Linderman's underlings. The underling tells him that things aren't over, DL still owes Linderman a debt which will be called in at some point.

Niki in the meantime has been sentenced to solitary confinement, following her (or rather Jessica's) attack on at least one of the guards. She is visited by her lawyer, who informs her that the death penalty is being considered.

Niki and Jessica end up having a conversation with each other in the lawyer's presence, which freaks him out a bit, and he agrees with Jessica's suggestion that he bring in a psychologist. Stepping away from the content of the episode for a moment, I have to say that I've been impressed by Ali Larter's portrayal of Niki and Jessica in the way that her posture, expressions and voice chance as she switches from one to the other.

DL and Micah visit Niki and after she has spoken to Micah she asks the guard if there's any way that she could hug him. The guard says that there isn't, and as she walks towards him he raises his baton/truncheon/whatever that thing is called.

She grabs hold of it and breaks it in half. We've seen Jessica display super-strength before, but this is the first time that Niki's made use of it. This also means that it's no clearer as to just what Niki's power is. Following this incident, Niki is strait-jacketed and confined to a padded cell.

HRG, Matt and Audrey

HRG has been keeping Sylar drugged, and the doctors examining him haven’t been able to make any headway. HRG remarks to one of the doctors that Sylar deserves to die, but that hasn’t been authorised.

Not long after that, Primatech Paper is raided by the FBI and SWAT on Matt’s say-so, as he’s been staking the place out for the past two weeks. The raid turns up nothing, and Matt is unable to read HRG’s thoughts, as a result of the Haitian lurking in the background.

It’s surprising that Matt hasn’t done anything about the Haitian, as he does know about him following the conversation with Ted. Maybe he hasn’t realised that the guy hanging around HRG a lot is the Haitian he’s looking for, or maybe it’s OOTTWNSTQ.

The failed raid appears to mark the end of Matt’s involvement with the FBI, and he returns home. He says to Janice that they need to start being completely honest with each other, and tells her that he can hear other people’s thoughts.

Mohinder

Mohinder is visited by an FBI agent who tells him that they've run the name Sylar through their database but came up with no matches. I find this a bit strange, as Audrey should have filed reports on her case which would mention the name Sylar. So either the agent isn't telling Mohinder everything or this is OOTTWNSTQ.

The agent asks about Sarah Ellis, one of the names on Mohinder's list. Mohinder says that he tried to contact her, but couldn't track her down.

The agent produces a photo of Sarah Ellis, which it turns out is Eden's real name. The agent says that her body was in a lake some where around Ontario.

It's reasonable to expect her body to have turned up somewhere other than Texas, but dumping her that far away seems a little extreme. Maybe they were trying to blame Canada.

Mohinder turns out to be quite popular this episode, as he’s also visited by HRG. HRG tells Mohinder that Eden was working for him, and that the two of them should be working together. Mohinder refuses and says that he's going to continue trying to contact people, but he's going to warn them about HRG as well.

Everyone Else

Hiro and Ando visit the Museum of Natural History in New York, as all the books Hiro has read say that the sword Isaac painted is located there. How Hiro was able to identify the sword from that painting is unclear, so either Isaac has painted the sword again with more detail or this is another OOTTWNSTQ.

They find the sword displayed together with Samurai armour. On the hilt of the sword is the helix-like symbol that we’re all familiar with, and Ando says that it’s a combination of two characters, “great talent” and “Godsend”. Hiro decides to take the sword, believing it will help him regain control of his power, which has been fading ever since Charlie’s death. In order to take the sword, he tries to use his power to freeze time, but only succeeds in slowing it.

He decides this is good enough, and opens the display case and takes the sword. During his escape he makes his way into the dinosaur exhibit, and stands in front of a model dinosaur in the pose in which he saw him in the painting.

However, the painting showed him holding a naked blade, not a sheathed one as he is now, and the dinosaur’s colour and Hiro’s clothes may also have been different. So either Isaac’s paintings aren’t completely accurate in terms of the minute details, this wasn’t actually the event depicted by the painting, or this is OOTTWNSTQ.

Outside the museum, Hiro draws the sword only to find out that it’s a replica that has been made by the Linderman Group. A dejected Hiro decides to return the sword.

Meanwhile Peter lies in a coma, where he’s been for the last two weeks, during which time he’s been regularly visited by his mother, Nathan and Simone. While he’s comatose he sees images from his vision of himself exploding, although he also sees another man whom we haven’t encountered yet.

Nathan and Simone discuss Isaac’s future painting ability, and Nathan asks Simone to take him to see Isaac.

While they’re looking at the paintings, Hiro and Ando enter, and Hiro is pleased to see “flying man” again. Hiro explains about the sword, and Simone says that Linderman is a client of hers, and that she can arrange a meeting in Vegas.

Peter wakes up from his coma and leaves the hospital, much to the consternation of his mother. While walking through the streets he speaks on his cellphone to a travel agent asking for a ticket to the desert, maybe Nevada.

During this episode we also saw a scene of Caveman Ted somewhere in the Nevada Desert, so Peter’s choice of destination could be related to that. The nearest airport to the desert is Las Vegas, so it looks as though we’re headed back there next episode.

While he’s waiting for the agent to check something, Peter sees the man from his vision. This man walks past tables at a café, and takes the customers’ wallets without anybody noticing.

Anybody except Peter that is. Peter runs after the man, who seems surprised. He grabs hold of Peter and claims that no one can see him because he’s invisible.

About your TTWNSTQ (hee), I'm of the opinion that the museum "dinosaur" was meant to be the one Isaac painted (I don't think this show has the budget to stage a fight with a CGI dino), so I'd say that Isaac's paintings aren't always detail-perfect--or, the writers goofed up.  All those other things are truly TTWNSTQ, I think.

The acronym is perfect. As much as I love it, this show definitely has a lot of those OTTWNSTQ moments.

>>Maybe they were trying to blame Canada.<<
Great, now you got that song in my head.
