The Good Old Comedy

The Good Old Comedy

Nothing beats a good laugh after a busy stressful day at work and being stuck in traffic on your way home.
But switch on your TV set and get a doze of your favourite comedy on; I guarantee you (with my best Teko Modise voice doing McD advert); you will be relaxed; LUHTEPIMP(lag uit hard tot ek pie in my pentie -I got this from the erfsondes blog.)

It is good to laugh; loose yourself in the moment and really forget about that account that is in arrears; a boyfriend who did not pick his phone previous night when all you wanted was to say good morning; you forget about the bitchy boss and that cleaning lady who wakes up every morning to come to work and not clean (that’s what irritate the hell out of you)

I want us to recall the old comedies that made us crack up back in the days when a 54 cm TV was a luxury

We had our doses of Webster, the short little fellow with crazy answers

                                    he is now unattractively chubby

There was steve; no not Steve Harvey; the dude who wore BEEEG glasses (which I think are the “in” thing now). He looked like a nerd
Anywho I could not find so here is the Steve Harvey show. It was a good comedy as well. I loved the way Lavidah (if that is how her name is spelled) said Boss Lady.i also loved her relationship with her “Cedie” played by Cedric the Entertainer (what is his surname?)

i tried to get Steve's photo mara dooo!

And there was Will as the fresh prince. Boy! Was he fresh. Tyra was also somewhere there playing his girlfriend or something. All I remember now is that she used to were very short skirt; the same length the Noord taxi drivers would strip you naked if you show your face at the workstation. I think she worked at a hotel or something cause they were always at the reception desk.
Anyway; I loved it and laughed at it

                              and he was fresh olrite!

The Cosby Show……wow wow wow. Need I say more? Oh I loooved Olivia….all those questions and curiosity

            Olivia(Raven) was oh so adorable!!

As the years came and passed we got our dozes of The Hugleys. I remember I used to have crush over Mr Hughley; and now I cant stand s-curl and cut (or whatever it is called-----eeeeeuw gel aaarrrhhhh)

Boy; that was crazy; is it because Americans are talented or take their job seriously?
I am saying this cause you cannot compare them with our local flava. Look at them Scarpin guy (one who does stupid SABC education ads) and the Mawiniza comedy and Emzini..those things lost their flavours or should I say never had; you decide? or maybe the actors and actresses focuses on earning than on being funny? well; having said that one will conclude that I am not a fan of local comedy.......tjeer and there is one on sunday.....tjo it makes sharing a TV hell, ek se

eish angazi *shoulders up*

Sister sister also rocked us. I remember back in the days when we were writing music books there at the back of the book we wrote a small autobio- I forgot what we called- we wrote our favourite things and one thing that remained over and over was my favourite comedy: Sister Sister.
Tia and Tamera were the bomb. i think they are one of the people who were beautiful and are still beautiful.

Oh and I loved their theme song…through the journey of discovery…..finding you and finding me…..

Okay this is getting too long; mara there was Martin; Amen; Streaks (this one i loved and it was local-ka bo Themba Ndaba playing a gay and Maletsatsi wa Scandal was also there); and many other i forgot to mention

What did you watch and enjoyed?

Let us keep this about good old television please anything else might be deleted by the author of this article tltltltltlt i'm seriuos!
