Monday 2 April Episode 44
At issues an ultimatum to Roelien to stay away from Chris van Deventer. Roelien has no choice but to turn to the only true friend she seems to have left. When Roelien asks Chris to do the right thing, he spells out why he’s not the right man for her.
An overwhelmed Gideon now has his father’s shares, but he can’t help wondering what Franz is getting up to, on the sly. He’s becoming more and more convinced that he made a huge mistake, allowing his father to join his practice. Stefanie agrees to work for Franz.
It seems Rico’s becoming restless – he’s knocking back one Tequila after the next, as if he doesn’t have to be at work the very next day.
Jennifer’s deepest, darkest secret gets exposed.
Someone gets a marriage proposal.
Tuesday 3 April Episode 45
At tries to buy Franz’s shares, but fails miserably.
When Franz wants to make changes to the consulting rooms, Gideon stubbornly refuses.
Roelien is very grateful when Pippa agrees that she can move back in, but it’s clear Pippa has serious reservations about her decision.
In his heart of hearts At already regrets rejecting Roelien, but he would never admit that to anyone.
Jennifer refuses to be a sympathetic shoulder for Chris to cry on.
Pippa antagonises Steve, the enigmatic porter, by fishing about his past.
For once in his life Chris plans to do the right thing, but will he be able to live with his decision?
Wednesday 4 April Episode 46
Chris and Roelien’s engagement is a sad affair.
At Binneland, rumour has it the wedding is part of At’s scheme to get his hands on his son-in-law’s shares.
Franz assumes Gideon is behind Stefanie’s sudden decision not to work for him anymore. Gideon shares some memories from his youth, of a dad who always wanted to be the centre of attention.
Malan is green with envy when Pippa pays too much attention to Steve, the porter with the dark past.
Franz reacts rather oddly when he can’t find his computer’s memory stick.
After much soul-searching, Jennifer makes a call which could open up old wounds.
Thursday 5 AprilEpisode 47
Roelien would love to have an engagement party, but Chris feels that would be in bad taste, as she and At aren’t even on speaking terms.
Jennifer does her best to prevent the practice from losing Stefanie’s services.
Marina is delighted with her future son-in-law – he’s attractive, he has money and status. What more could a mother-in-law want? In vain she tries to get Chris to convince At not to harden his heart against Roelien.
As with any couple who move in together, Gideon and Stefanie have a few adjustments to make.
Rico tries to befriend Steve but gets a cold shoulder for his trouble.
Friday 6 April Episode 48
Pippa can’t think of anything worse than being Roelien’s bridesmaid but she reluctantly agrees to do it. Marina tries to convince her daughter she has no reason to feel inferior to Jennifer. An angry Jennifer assures Marina there’s nothing between her and Chris. At Koster humiliates Marina in front of Kitte, and refuses outright to forgive Roelien.
Franz is livid to see that At has published his name and details about his research in a newspaper. He points out that At’s thoughtless actions have endangered his life.
When Steve dispenses medical advice, Rico warns him it’s not his job to diagnose patients. For what reason does the secretive Steve go down to the hospital basement every so often?
Monday 9 April Episode 49
Gideon convinces Franz he doesn’t have to flee for his life. At wonders why certain people in Toronto would do almost anything to find Franz. He puts it out there that he has information on Franz, and then sits back to see who reacts to the news. It’s clear At Koster never forgives anyone who turns against him – and Franz can expect no mercy on that score.
Roelien is getting the wedding of her dreams, but she’s still not happy.
When Kitte finds Steve in the basement, the porter pretends to go down there when he needs a quiet place to write in his journal. When Pippa starts questioning him, Steve loses it and warns her to leave him alone.
Tuesday 10 April Episode 50
Stefanie won’t hear a bad word about Franz even though Gideon’s mom told him things which could explain Franz’s paranoia.
At plans to sell Franz’s secret formula on the sly – provided the price is right.
A delighted Marina is convinced she’s reunited father and daughter, but she’s unaware that it’s thanks to Malan, who reminded At he could be more powerful than ever… if he got his son-in-law (who also happens to be a shareholder) on his side.
Steve steps in seconds before Pippa makes a dreadful mistake which could cost someone his life.
Matron is very grateful when At agrees to employ Sheridan, her work-shy brother who’s just returned from London.
Malan is shocked when he begs Pippa to take him back, and she hesitates.
Wednesday 11 April Episode 51
From experience, At Koster knows when a man is hungry for money – apparently he’s found just the guy to spy on an unsuspecting Franz Basson.
Roelien still mistakenly believes Marina managed to bring out the gentler side of At Koster.
Father and son are at loggerheads over Franz’s handling of an illness. When the doctor is also the patient, they pig-headedly tend to ignore good advice.
Chris spells it out that he’s not about to become At’s lapdog.
When Rico’s girlfriend starts making all kinds of expensive plans for their trip to the Cape, he knows he’d be mad – and bankrupt – if he went along for the ride.
An emotional Jennifer has an opportunity to meet someone she hasn’t seen in twenty years.
Thursday 12 April Episode 52
It seems as if Matron’s smooth-talking brother, Brendan, is a real ladies’ man.
An irritable Jennifer suggests that Chris – as prospective groom – focus on his new family and leave her alone.
Stefanie is unsettled when confronted with a seemingly unstable Franz Basson, but Gideon sets her at ease.
When Steve again stops Pippa from making a major blunder with a patient, she wonders if he won’t make a fabulous male nurse. A furious Steve brands that a ludicrous idea.
Roelien is shocked to hear how few people Chris has told about his wedding plans.
Someone gets access to Franz’s laboratory… and that person’s clearly there on a mission…
Friday 13 April Episode 53
Why does an injured boy have such a devastating effect on one of the nursing staff?
Who was in the lab and what was he doing there? Stories about a break-in have the entire Binneland abuzz.
Gideon and Stefanie are still fighting – he’s convinced his dad’s research will end in nothing but disaster. It seems as if his prediction is about to come true, when Franz’s initial results indicate that his theories are seriously flawed.
Roelien’s wedding dress arrives – is it be the dress of her dreams? The men in the family couldn’t be bothered with all the little details that go into organising the big day. Marina has discovered that there are very few things in life, which money can’t buy.
Steve gets into deep trouble after handing someone a gift.
Monday 16 April Episode 54
Rico realises he can’t keep up the pace anymore – his social life is one never-ending party.
Mother-of-the-bride Marina is starting to get on people’s nerves.
At realises that someone’s outwitted him – his attempts at sabotage look amateurish, compared to what he’s faced with now.
Pippa is horrified to hear that Chris plans to have a best man at the wedding. She’s totally flustered when she finds out something about the enigmatic Steve’s past.
Franz wants to use Stefanie, to ensure that no one tampers with his consignment of plant material, but what if he endangers her in doing so?
Tuesday 17 April Episode 55
Even Franz has a gripe with Steve, but when Kitte follows up on it, he comes up against a brick wall. Everyone is amazed when two guys get into a brawl.
Elise reminds Pippa that she has certain responsibilities – she is, after all, Roelien’s maid of honour.
When a tense Jennifer snaps, a compassionate Matron gives her new perspective on things.
Marina’s bitten off more than she can chew by confronting Toeks about the wedding arrangements.
Kitchen teas are huge fun, not so? Or is only the groom allowed to go a bit overboard?
Someone’s snooping around in Stefanie’s flat – will they find what they’re looking for?
Wednesday 18 April Episode 56
Gideon is livid when he realises when might have happened to Stefanie.
What will Pippa discover if she googles Steve’s name on the Internet? When she and Stefanie speculate about why Steve wants to remain anonymous, Stefanie suggests they leave the traumatised man in peace.
Is Jennifer ready to meet her family face to face?
A solemn Kitte confesses that he was once left standing at the altar. Are we about to witness a repeat of that, at the upcoming Verwey/Van Deventer wedding? The bride is ready and waiting, but where is the groom?
Thursday 19 AprilEpisode 57
The groom has a good excuse as to why he’s late, but is he telling the truth?
Steve pretends to be a computer nerd, but why is he suddenly so interested in what’s on Jennifer’s hard-drive?
Not all weddings are an occasion to celebrate. Jennifer battles to hide her pain from the world, but manages to put on a brave face.
The honeymoon holds a few surprises for both bride and groom… Now that he’s a married man, we get a glimpse of Chris’s true feelings.
Friday 20 April Episode 58
At heaves a sigh of relief now that the whole wedding debacle is over and done with.
Malan is desperate – what more can he do to win back Pippa’s trust?
After being confronted by Franz, Steve confesses why he came to Binneland in the first place.
Nina is shocked to hear that Rico had to go back to work, after their party. That is one man with too much on his place, yet she keeps dragging him from one late-night do, to the next. With her setting such a bad example, will she get Rico to do something stupid, against his better judgement?
It’s the moment of truth - will there be a happy reunion between Jennifer and Leandré?
Monday 23 April Episode 59
When Rico shows up late for work, Pippa is the one who covers for him.
A jealous Malan, who hates that fact that everyone’s so obsessed with the guy, is dismissive when Pippa insists Steve is a doctor. Steve catches Rico doing something irresponsible.
Franz wants to keep it secret that he’s out to get more plant material, but someone has already concocted a clever plan to intercept him and his precious cargo.
Brendan is starting to irritate Jennifer, who has enough problems of her own.
Someone breaks into the lab again …
Tuesday 24 April Episode 60
Something must be seriously wrong if Rico gets the shakes... and he’s also being very rude to Busi and Pippa.
Matron is a pillar of strength to Jennifer, who admits she’s not sure she’s ready for her new role in life. Jen agrees to go on one date with Brendan, but just when she thinks her day can’t get any worse, Steve starts accusing her of all sorts of things. She denies his allegations, but he’s adamant – she’s hiding something.
Even though there’s a gas leak in his lab, Franz frantically continues his research. Poor Stefanie is the one who pays a heavy price for his stubbornness.
Wednesday 25 April Episode 61
There’s widespread panic when Stefanie’s found in the lab, knocked out cold. When a livid Gideon accuses Rico of endangering her life, a guilty Rico pretends not to know what he’s talking about.
Franz realises it’s the end of his dream, but he may just find a way to make all his hard work completely useless to the people who stole it. At is furious to discover his clever little plans have been dealt a severe blow.
Kitte fires a shocked Steve, and warns that it’s either that, or the police get called in.
Rico is very aware of his shortcomings, but clever little Nina, who is a real smooth-talker, soothes away all his concerns.
When Jennifer meets Leandré, it’s a tense moment filled with expectation.
Thursday 26 April Episode 62
A twenty-year separation is a long time to catch up on. Leandré’s not very keen to talk about her family, but she puts Jennifer on the spot by asking about her private life.
Pippa offers poor Steve a place to stay, even though he won’t be able to repay her for her kindness.
When Rico snaps at a medical rep, Malan takes over and tries to appease the highly upset girl. Rico has a change of heart when the rep mentions that there are all sorts of advantages to prescribing her company’s products.
Stefanie is in good hands, but is there cause for concern when it comes to her health?
Gideon’s not impressed by his father’s apologetic attitude. But, will foolish pride get in the way, and stop him from letting his father operate?
Friday 27 April Episode 63
Jennifer lets in a pathetic-looking midnight caller who is in a very sorry state.
Leandré is fuming when she hears that a worried Jennifer called her mother, and threatens to go home right away.
Stefanie’s nervous about her prognosis, despite the fact that everyone’s trying very hard to cheer her up.
Pippa is getting more and more involved with Steve, but she’s also increasingly attracted to the guy. Jennifer gives Pippa vital information about Steve’s son.
Rico and Nina realise that they have a problem, but it’s clear that there’s almost no sign of mutual trust in their relationship.
Monday 30 April Episode 64
Malan isn’t very convincing in his role as the caring, sensitive doctor. This leads Elise to take a very daring bet with him. Malan has a totally feeble excuse when Kitte walks in on him, in At’s office.
Stefanie is convinced Franz blames her for the disastrous events which unfolded in his lab.
Steve is sure his son is not only alive, but is currently living in Switzerland. However, Steve’s sister, Anita, has a completely different take on the story.
Rico’s big secret is revealed when he’s involved in a car accident. He’s depressed because his finances are so bad, he might not be able to afford to have his car fixed. In his darkest hour, Rico turns to a sympathetic Jennifer.
