Justice 3

On Sunday night Justice "high heels" Motlhabani was the first housemate to get ejected from the Big Brother Africa 2 house when seven countries turned against him to boot him out instead of Jeff.

On Monday morning after all the eviction action I caught up with him for us to find out if he's really so annoying or if he was just pretending. He hadn't had much sleep when we chatted and from the sounds of it he wasn't gonna get any until yesterday (Tuesday) when he was heading off home to Botswana.

You can either check out what he had to say or take a listen or do a combo of both.

Tashi: What was the weirdiest thing about escaping the house after three weeks of hell?
Justce: The people outside - they were phenomenal. As much as you know people are watching the show you don’t expect to see such a huge audience outside so that was phenomenal.

Tashi: In terms of the cameras, how aware of them were you?
Justice: After a week or so I became very comfortable with them because they were all just around and I became comfortable and relaxed a bit but when you come in it’s uncomfortable seeing so many cameras just standing and facing you time and again.

Tashi: Did you feel you needed to change what you were doing while they were watching you?
Justice: It does happen but most of the time you know you have to relax and there’s always something keeping you busy so you don’t even have time to worry about them. Sometimes you tend to think about them but most of the time it was just a matter of being yourself.

Tashi: What were the moments you were most aware of them?
Justice: Yeah I think one tends to think about them during the shower hour …
Tashi: Hehe, yes.
Justice: … and you wonder whether there’s someone on the other side of the mirror with the camera there and stuff like that.

Tashi: I was very disappointed that it was you got whacked instead of Jeff. Look don’t get me wrong you irritated me out of my mind but at least there was always something going on with you as opposed to Jeff who just sits around with his ridiculous exercises. I take it you realize you should have calmed down all that rubbish debating you had going on?
Justice: Not really. I feel, at that point in time, there was a problem that needed to be sorted out and so I was mainly bringing it to Big Brother’s attention.

Tashi: You said you were pleased to be the first voted out - I don’t believe it for a second.
Justice: It depends how you see it at the end the day. It was a situation of me feeling I’ve played my part and winning was no longer my priority. I just needed to be out to go do other things. I know most people find it difficult to believe if you like but I felt that way – I felt I was being true to myself.

Tashi: What were your thoughts on how Meryl changed her Head Of House vote? What changes did you think – or suspect, she’d made?
Justice: Ja I suspected she’d replaced Bertha with Jeff but you wouldn’t be sure - there was a time when I asked Jeff how he’d feel if it was him and he said he didn’t want to think negative.

I knew they were not talking much and sort of not getting along well so one could guess who she was going to replace. Also that she was getting close to Bertha gave one an idea of what would happen.

Tashi: So you didn’t for a moment consider that she’d have swapped you with someone?
Justice: Ja, you can say so but there were people like Maureen who came and said to me: “She’s feeling sorry about what she did,” and stuff like that so for a second you think: “Maybe she would sort of think of replacing me as compensation for what she did,” but after she came out of the Diary Room and after talking to her, I could see she did not replace me.

Tashi: Now the fiasco that happened with her - why did you make her beg for forgiveness and then not accept her apology?
Justice: I felt that she needed to take reposnibility for it and that her apology was not sincere. As much as Big Brother is a small house and it was in a heated moment and that there were all sorts of things going, that we live by the Big brother rules, that we have to obey.

Tashi: I was dying to know what you wanted to talk to him about when you kept ringing the diary room door and I was very irritated when he wouldn’t let you in. What did you want to say him?
Justice: I wanted him to - I was sure he was watching what was happening and there was something he should have done. I felt he should taken action in that regard as per the rules of the house.

Tashi: What was the most difficult thing about it all?
Justice: I would say dealing with people, ja.

Tashi: Sooo, are you an alchy? (Aka alcoholic.)
Justice: Well, no, no, there was just a lot of alcohol in the house, a lot of free alcohol, and we were all having fun.

Tashi: ‘cos you didn’t stop.
Justice: (laughs) I didn’t think so. I just felt when there’s free alcohol there’s all sorts of temptations and stuff and there were times when I didn’t want to drink and I just um …

Tashi: Woke up in the morning and started drinking.
Justice: (laughs) Well not all the time really.

Tashi: You told KB that you think Max could win - why do think this?
Justice: I think he stands a good chance. I think he gets along well with all the housemates and that he’s a great guy overall.

Tashi: What do you think his story is with Lerato - he's been leading her on and then saying: "Oh but he’s got a girlfriend and then leading her on again." (and of course subsequently nominated her again)
Justice: I think it’s for strategic reasons for him but there’s also a point where you think he really likes her so it’s very difficult to say but I would say it’s for strategic reasons but it may be different.

Tashi: Who would you say the main power players are? Max obviously, you’ve identified him as one - who else?
Justice: I think Meryl, Lerato and Tatiana also stand a good chance because they have a lot of people on their side and they seem to get along with most other housemates well.

Tashi: Have you watched since you left?
Justice: Ja, but not a lot, just briefly.

Tashi: And what did you think?
Justice: Well I think it looks different, it’s a whole different world inside. The rooms look bigger and more beautiful - they still beautiful on the inside, they’re colourful and stuff but from the outside it’s like “Wow”. Also just the whole atmosphere inside and outside makes it different.

Inside there are only twelve people to talk to and live with them and outside you meet people with a whole lot of opinions who’ve been watching the show. It’s quite interesting to know what some people think about it and how you see it on the inside.

Tashi: What have people said to you? You’ve obviously driven other people out their minds too - have people said that? Have they been positive/negative?
Justice: I’ve just heard: “We miss you, we miss, we need you back inside.”

Tashi: My personal opinion on it is that the more crazy you can drive them on the inside, the better.
Justice: (Laughs) I guess that also works too.

Tashi: Was that any part of your strategy? To go in and just like really be anti - be the troublemaker?
Justice: No not really, I just wanted to be myself but you know there will be those situations where you feel there’s something you want to say. I was not necessarily intending to be a troublemaker in any way, I was just being myself.

Tashi: So it just comes naturally.
Justice: Ja.

Tashi: I don’t know who it was who nominated you but they said they felt you weren’t being accommodating enough of other people’s opinions, created fights unnecessarily. Do you think that’s true?
Justice: No I consider myself to be considerate. I mean in most situations I would listen to other housemates and there were times when I differed in opinions from them and I would just be able to read the situation be quite and there were times where I just had to say something to express my opinion but that was really accommodating, maybe they were just starting to naw me. I think in the end most housemates felt I was considerate and accommodating of their opinion.

Tashi: What did you discover about yourself that you didn’t know?
Justice: I guess I’m gonna need time to reflect and stuff like that but I must say I had fun and maybe I learnt that I would always be myself and stand up for what I believe in in most situations.

Code was right, this guy will always be a debater. Judging from this interview surely he would have known that he was evicted based purely on his arrogance.

I did not want him to be evicted but the problem with him is that he is not a good listener. If he has decided on a point he sticks to it like a glue.

I don't watch BBA but love it when a journalist feels they can be honest about how they feel and not come across as a**-kissing just to get someone to respond and u're good @ that Tashi.

Anyone that can download the file or has downloaded it and is feeling really generous, could you e-mail me the file on toxic@tvsa.co.za.
