eps08EPISODE EIGHT

Wowser - as thicko-ly ridiculous as Elizabeth was there is something to be said for facing such a pack of bloodthirsty wolves and making it out - not necessarily sane - but alive.

She was hysterical as she zombily shuffled away in the taxi seeming to like her ideas so much, not for a moment brainwaving that throughout the entire thing she didn't offer a single one.

There was defs truth to what she said to Kevin though - that the attitude of Apex stifled her creativity. Yet again Kevin rose to the challenge to reveal just how cool he is, both when he sat through the night helping her and when he angrily pounced on her the next day saying she needed to get decisive and communicate with the team.

She just absolutely didn't have what it takes it to stand up for herself though - unlike Andy who did quite the opposite as he led Mosaic to victory by refusing to buckle under them. Which just reminded me! The beginning - what was up with everyone being so surprised that Stacy got whacked?

I was gobsmacked that they weren't delighted and once it sank in that they really would have preferred her staying instead, it showed a lot about them - espesh the way they sat stuffing their faces while Andy mooned around outside.

Have you noticed how much they all eat and drink? It wouldn't be a problem if the way did it was different but every time someone's talking or leading they all lose themselves in whatever they're guzzling down as if they're deliberately not listening.

Most everyone in both Mosaic and Apex did it during both Andy and Elizabeth's leadership of the teams as they created their stupid police promos. This was the task Donald left them while he wizzed off to whisper unspeakable messages to beauty queens in front of Melania.

Each team had to create an advertising campaign encouraging new recruits to join the NYPD and were given full access to their training camp, as well as visual and print media.

Mosaic came up with a campaign based on the tagline: "When was the last time you ...?" that featured police people asking the public questions like: "When was the last time you saved a life?" and "When was the last time you did your family proud?"

Apex came up with nothing because Raj and Chris wanted to equate the NYPD to the troops in Iraq, Elizabeth didn't want to and didn't have any other suggestions. Apex ended up filming police stunt footage that they had no clue what to do with, the team came up with an idea which we didn't see and Kevin sat up until 2am helping Elizabeth make it less aggro.

She said she liked it but changed her mind the next day resulting in their campaign ending up with the tagline: "You don't have to be on the other side of the world to be on the front line."

Both teams presented their campaigns for a silver haired advertising Mafioso called Donny and two chicks with important titles. They hated Apex's, loved Mosaic's and gave them the win, saying there was no contest between the two.

Apex moped and gossiped around the apartment before they went to the boardroom, everyone attacked Elizabeth and Donald fired her, without her choosing two people to be whacked too.

I didn't blame him - from where he was sitting it was all a waste of time but I would much rather have seen others whacked first - specifically Chris or Raj for being bullying Pigs or Ivana or Jenn for wanting Elizabeth to fail.

I couldn't stand the way Chris and Raj made fun of Elizabeth when she was going on about wanting the campaign to be emotional. As useless as she was their winking at each other as if they were soldiers in battle showing up what a stupid woman she was being seriously concerned me. All I wanted in those moments was for her to slap them into oblivion.

Ivana and Jenn were worse though 'cos that's the last thing they wanted her to do - Ivana particularly.

She spent the entire time setting Elizabeth up to be what she knew she was gonna turn out to be, rolling her eyes self-righteously, never once offering a suggestion to try to make things work. The deeper Elizabeth buried herself the more thrilled Ivana got - while pretending it was all about the task.

It was very horrible I thought and suited their pathetic advert brilliantly. Like the bully spirit of it all that targets panic and fear came through in their creation.

Not that Andy's was much better. Argh - I couldn't believe it when the advertising execs said they thought it was emotional and would work! It was so filled with smultzy sentimentality I was freaking with cringe for the policemen who had to do it.

I just can't believe that none of them thought to lighten the campaigns up by going for a sense of fun, humour or cool. The sex thing by Maria was an attempt I suppose, but it sucked because it was coming at things that the people who saw it would be too thick to know what they were trying to do.

After their win Mosaic showed just what Pigs they all so obviously are when they didn’t give Andy a smidgen of credit nor apology for trying to bully and discredit him. One moment they were making him fully responsible for the fact they were gonna be crap and then the next, as they won, suddenly they were all responsible for the victory.

As a result of everything Andy is officially my fave in Mosaic and at Apex Kev remains my fave out of everyone.
