It’s time for sgood old-fashion honesty and Tyra knows firsthand how brutal the modelling industry can be on a young model’s self-esteem.
Unbeknown to the girls an actress is sent in to portray an opinionated and tactless modelling agent and the contestants are given a healthy dose of reality.
Only one of the aspiring models seems unfazed by the harsh remarks and wins a surprise package. But the friend she chooses to share in the prize with is not too thrilled at the gift.
Next, the competitors are off to the dentist to perfect their smiles and two contestants are offered surgery to fix their dental problems. While one contestant readily accepts to have her snuggle tooth removed, the other girl refuses to have her gap between her two front teeth filled, citing it as her “signature look”.
Tyra goes behind the lens in this episode to photograph her protégés in black and white while they tearfully look beautiful.
In the second photo shoot the schmodels pose as dolls.
