There’s a new entertainment and lifestyle show coming up on SABC3 on 4 February at 19:30pm. They are promising to bring us more entertainment news, music, gossip, cover hot events, tours, best parties, latest fashions and gigs in SA and abroad. They are also promising to show us a sneak peak into the lives of some of the biggest DJ’s and presenters. I am not sure about this show’s new name but for now it’s called
TV5 it is a partnership between
5FM and SABC 3. This show will be hosted by
Grant Nash and Anele Mdoda who are already co-hosts of 5FM’s midday show.
But it seems like they are not going to be the only presenters of the show because SABC3 and 5FM are promising to feature all 5FM DJ’s as hosts/presenters of this show. I think maybe they will take turns in presenting the show because I can’t imagine all 5FM DJ’s doing the show all together at once or maybe every DJ will have their insert. I don’t know whether Anele Mdoda will still remain as part of Top Billing or she will present in both TV5 and Top Billing.
5FM’s popular features will be done on TV5. If you are a 5FM listener you might know these features like
Gareth Cliff’s News to Use or Lose feature, the Tyren’s Top 5 that always feature on Dj Fresh’s show and 5FM DJs who do the Power Nights shows will present their top 5 tracks every week. This means
Euphonik, Dj Fresh, C-live, Bongi and Jon Savage will also do some presenting in this show.
Thomas Msengane will also be on TV5 as the sports guy. Things are looking good for the Msenganes first it was wife Unathi bagged Idols now hubby gets to be seen back on our screens after how many years since Woza Weekend.
This is exciting even though I am trying to figure how they are going to feature all the presenters and how the show will be like. But I am excited about this as there are some shows that I enjoy on 5FM and the fact that SABC3 will now have an entertainment show that’s going to cover every aspect of the glitz and glamour of the entertainment world.
I hope this TV5 show will top SABC3’s former entertainment and lifestyle show Flash, which disappeared after they promised a new season. I am not sure whether the show is going to be an hour long or just half an hour. I think it should be an hour because it seems there’s a lot that they want to show. Half an hour will not be enough. I also hope TV5 will accommodate everyone not just a certain market.
TV5 will be in competition with etv’s popular music show Club808. I want to see if people will ditch Club808 for TV5 since Club808 is the show that is making LIVE producers sweat. I am sure they are glad Club808 plays at 19:30pm not 21:00pm as LIVE.
