We have celebrity siblings here in Mzansi. Some of them got into the entertainment industry after their older siblings and some of them started together. I am sure there are those that you like and admire. There are those you don’t like or who just annoy you. You might like both of the siblings in the family. There is maybe that one you like the most than the other. So which celebrity siblings do you like and which one do you like more than the other in that family?
The Ranaka’s. Dineo Ranaka is a Y-fm Dj and she has done some presenting on RGB. Manaka is a long time actress who has appeared in many dramas and on comedy Stokvel. She is older that Dineo. I just like mamdaddy (Dineo). I got to see more of her when she was doing RGB. I liked her crazy self even though she was annoying me when she would always compliment celebrities instead of interrogating them.
I also like ausi Manaka I think she’s a tough lady, dunno why. Don’t know whether it's Home Affairs or what but the woman seems like she’s aging a bit. I mean considering that she has a toy boy I wonder. In case you didn’t know that guy who played her toy-boy in Tshisa it turned out it is like that in real life too. I saw her on Seskhona directing his music video (apparently the dude is trying his like in music too) which I’ve never seen since that day lol. She was always saying “baby do this, do this baby…”lol And I was thinking to myself this guy is literally a baby to ausi.
Dunno whether to say the
Mboya’s to these sisters considering the other one is still a Roberts. Anyway Hlubi Mboya and Kuli Roberts are also sisters. We all know Hlubi as an actress in Isidingo and Kuli as a journalist/presenter. They always show togetherness every time they appear on TV. I like Kuli. She’s crazy she’s not afraid to say what’s on her mind.
Do you remember how blunt she was on RGB when she was talking about Charity who’s in Zone 14. She left me with my hand on my mouth and a big laugh afterwards…I think there is some connection between the Ranakas and the MboRobs. Nandipha was played by Manaka in Isidingo and Hlubi took over from her. Dineo was a presenter of RGB’s first season then Kuli took over from her in season two. What is it ladies to call each other when the one is leaving the job.
The Mazwais. Thandiswa and Ntsiki Mazwai are also sisters. Thandiswa is a talented musician while Ntsiki is a known poet. I have never seen them that much together in public. Sometimes I just don’t understand these sisters’ wardrobe. Have you heard that Wena track of Ntsiki Mazwai, you'll swear that song is dedicated to someone, you know who...lol In this family I like Thandiswa even though she seems like a cold person but I like her.
The Bala Brothers, they are famous for singing their lungs out. Zwai was the first one to start in this game. He started as a kwaito artist now he’s venturing in all genres like a confused artist who’s still figuring out which genre is working for him. He reminds me of Chomee when she started in this music industry. First she was a hip hop artist and saw that doesn’t bring any cents, then became an Rnb artist and saw that is not helping too and finally became a dance or kwaito artist next it will be mbaqanga I’m telling you.
Anyway abuti Zwai now owns Gospel Gold on SABC1. He hosts the show, sings and even sings with the guests in their songs shame poor guests. I bet they just have to allow it. They even sing with Zwai’s backing vocalists, talking about pushing your mission abuti Zwai lol. I heard the younger brother has an Afrikaans album go support bathong.
My favourite in this family has to be Loyiso. I like Loyiso he seems like a friendly person. He doesn’t only take pictures with his fans he chats like a normal person. I’ve met him and chatted with him. I thought I had to khumsha since I was talking with a celeb you know some of these celebs and their twang. But he was not like that sathetha isiXhosa nje kamnandi. He is not a coconut or a snob like many would like to think. I like him.
The Mdlongwas. Ntate Oskido (a quick shout out to Tina) and Pepsi Mdlongwa. These men are both Djs and producers. Ntate Oskido has been on this music and entertainment industry since I was not even born…lol His brother Pepsi followed on his steps.
He is the guy who produced a hit track for Tamara Dey and became a first lady of kwaito then disappeared while Tamara sinks shame. She always looks so lost these days what happened to a being first lady of Kwaito ausi. Anyway Pepsi came back and did what he is famous for and ntate Oskido is still producing hits.
The Ngubeni’s. Sarah and Wright Ngubeni. They are both actors and they have done some presenting too. I like both of them. They were cute on the SAMA’s this year. The young man has grown up. Sarah seems like a sweet person. I like her.
The Dikanes. Zonke and Lulu Dikane. They are both musicians. I haven’t seen much of the older Dikane. She did a little acting on Home Affairs and I think she did that part well.
Thando and Ntobeko Ngcizela better known as
Jaziel Brothers. They are known for being the best in their music. They have worked with Jub Jub in his famous gospel tracks. Every artist would like to work with them. And they must please work things out with Lesego bathong. He can’t lose it so early in his career. The brother can sing eish mara his face hayi no. He must take it slow from the Black Label.
The Moloisanes. Proverb and Lerato Moloisane/Mvelase. Proverb is a hip hop artist and Lerato is famous for her role in Home Affairs. I have never seen these two together in public. I just wonder why but I do know they are in fact siblings. BTW Lerato is married to a white man don't get confused by her many surnames. I don't know which one is which in those two surnames. Coz in Home Affairs she's Lerato Mvelase on TVSA She's Lerato Moloisane, dunno why.
Kwela Tebza guys. They are famous for blowing their things and always looking dashing in these events. I still don’t understand why they should not be the featured ones in their songs coz they only blow those things and it's other people singing. I mean really now, maybe I don’t understand music after all. The older one seems like he’s only realising it now that he’s famous. When they were starting he seemed like a quite one not phapharing but now tjo he is talking too much. He even dyed his afro.
The Masinas they are also Y-FM twins, Hlelo and Ntando. I dunno which one is the wife of Bozza but I know it’s Ntando. These girls are famous for what they do at Y-fm. I have never heard them but people I have asked about how are they on radio are not impressed at all. I only see them on television with their long weaves. I dunno what kind of a disaster will strike once these girls take off the fake hair. But I am sure it aint gonna be good lol. Maybe it’s about time ladies your gal B did it you can do it too...lol
The Ngcobos. They used to be known as Amaponi and they are also famous of having famous parents. They tried to make a come back but that didn’t happen. I think maybe it’s because their kind of music just doesn’t fit in 2009 and it’s difficult to adjust to the new vibe. I like the newlywed Ntombi. She is just likable. I think she should stop being behind the scenes on Jika Majika and start being a presenter of the show. We need some fresh blood on television bathong. The younger Ngcobo likes bragging about her family hey.
The Zumas. Gugu Zuma and Dudu Zuma. Gugu is an actress on Isidingo. She didn’t start her acting there after daddy became Mr Pres. She also played a female police woman in Interrogation Room before daddy became a president. As for Dudu Zuma I dunno her claim to fame besides shining on daddy’s shine.

The Ndunganes. Akhona and Odwa Ndungane they are rugby players. I think Akhona is the one in your right and Odwa is the one in your left. Akhona is also playing for the national team sometimes I just wonder why they pick him.
Revolution. Dunno which one is Goerge and which one is Joseph but they are George and Joseph. These twins are both Djs and they work together in producing their house tunes. I've never read anything bad about them you know. Good man.
