Nambitha bites the dust as Generations shows her the door after alleged diva-tendencies and her constant demand for Star treatment in SA’s most watched Soapie, so reports Sunday Sun. It was also reported early last year that Nambitha was a boasting brag, who shows up late to shoots, inconveniences other actors and expects to be treated like an egg. So, to some of us this didn’t come as a surprise, it was just a matter of when the plug was going to be pulled on her.
Other unnamed actors stamped the allegations when they admitted to the Sunday tabloid that indeed Nambitha has been a nightmare to work with. Her endless demands of Hollywood movie-star treatment were starting to rub off many.
Mawande will be seen on Generations until Mid-August and it’s said that she’ll disappear into a mental institution. What a disgraceful dark pit the writers are going to sink a character this powerful in – could it be because of her attitude? It’s a shame. Nambitha is by far one of the
best actresses SA has ever had and we are hoping this is not the end of Nambitha’s career as Generations has proved over the years to be a "career killer" to some of the veteran actors.
The likes of Dini Nondumo and Mandla Hlatswayo disappeared off the face of our TV screens when the Generations lenses shot their last scenes.
Phemelo Motene, Rosie Motene, Chichi Letswaolo, Portia Joel and Rina Nienaber, followed suit and a long stream of promising actors vanished when Generations dimmed the lights on them (remember Sindi (pregnant girl) and Sandile (Ntsiki' son))!
At least Thahira Syed had a short stint on Isidingo as Charmaine hired by Barker Haines to destroy Rajesh “Bloody” Kumar....BUT Is this a curse?
Be that as it may, Generations has introduced actors who spanned successful careers after leaving the show such as Wright Ngubeni, Florence Masebe, Carol Bauer (former Mogale) and Sthandiwe Kgoroge (former Msomi).
