The Observer: The Carver

Nip/Tuck has provided laughter and also left me intrigued, but most importantly my sarcastic nature was well oiled and thrilled. I was especially grossed out by the 17year old fetus they found in Mrs Santa’s belly whilst undergoing liposuction in one of the weeks episodes. Can you imagine living with your wife and having sex with her whilst baby number "whatever" is dead inside her? Tragic!

Some of the stories include:

"The boys who super glued their faces to another’ ass! Having them sign that release was hilarious."

"The face transplant that went from hopeful to rejection"

"The man who harvested body parts from dead people to rebuild a body and had sexual relations with the Frankenstein "

This show has offered every viewer who enjoys twists and turns, a good serving of entertainment. The use of painful yet honest dialogue has allowed those like me, to escape into a world which was complimented by a fascinating hour on the small screen. Season 4 & 5, for those who have seen the show, you know that it can only get better.

With quality, there is always a need to take a reader through a journey of words and although my blog is not the colossus that is “Remembrance of Things Past”. I trust that you find the details of The Carver quite fascinating as the writers of the show presented. In last nights episode, it was revealed that Quentin, the assistant plastic surgeon at McNamara/Troy has a birth defect - he has no penis! Sorry ladies or men!

Hey it’s a free world don’t you agree Christian

Two questions:

Do you think when Quentin had sex with Corporal at McNamara/Troy, he did it because he was gay or to piss Sean off?

And

How is it that Julia did not notice that her boyfriend did not have a penis, after all those hot tub moments. Didn’t she play grab the magic wand during their make-out sessions?

This episode drew 3.9 million viewers in the 18-49 age demographic in the US and it made the show the highest watched cable series for 2005.

It featured Christian who finds out that Kimber didn't ditch him at the altar but was abducted by the carver. Quentin is presented as a Carver suspect. Meanwhile Sean is threatened into doing pro bono work on the transgender woman who was beat up by Matt.

When Ariel made her appearance in that mall after that wonderful makeup counter assistant WINK! WINK …had that exchange with Matt, which was so not Stuttafords behavior…..LOL, and left me realizing how hatred could be a comfortable resort for low and empty people. I guess it’s easy to hate than the alternative.

Ariel: (to Cherry) So, tranny, isn't Matt fantastic in bed? Do you squeal with pleasure when he goes down on you? Because, you know, I always knew he really liked dick.

Matt: You really are pitiful, Ariel. I almost feel sorry for you.
Ariel: I'm not the one dating a dude in a skirt, Matt. Wait til everyone at school hears about this. You won't make it out alive.

Over at the police station, Quentin and Detective McGraw, oh by the way, where is Phil. Tell him I said Hi...LOL. They are having an exchange which left we laughing at this lines:
Detective Kit McGraw: “Where is Kimber? “
Quentin: “I would check your ass but it’s so full of *bleep!* up there, I don’t think you’ll find her”

Ouch! but brilliant!

Before raping his victims, and/or carving their cheeks down to the lip to resemble a smile, the Carver tells his victims "Beauty is a curse on the world" which is the exact words he sent in an implant to McNamara/Troy. For Christian to find in a tube inside one of the implants. Sean then tells him that their kimber’s. He, the carver, sometimes adds "It keeps us from seeing who the real monsters are". I guess he always forgot that he was already a monster and what he did or does, is no different!

I don’t know why Quentin asked to know everything including the rotten chicken fat detail about it being injected into Kimber. When the Carver mutilated her to undo all her plastic work. This was horrible but he still wanted to hear all those details. What people don’t realize is that plastic surgery is bloody painful.

Jokes aside, you feel like you are in the middle of death and life and having to adgust the frequencies to your tolerance level, yet when you look at the mirrow you see a stranger in you. Ultimatly the body adapts. Patients practically look like mummies.

Detective Kit McGraw brings Dr. Quentin Costa in for questioning, suspecting him to be the Carver; she subsequently finds that, due to a medical condition, Costa was born with no penis. Since all of the Carver's victims were raped, Costa is released. But this a twisted and well thought out story by writers and it is delivered so convincingly that you actually don’t suspect that Costa and McGraw are related.

When Sean witnessed Costa receiving oral sex at a college party, Costa explains how he paid the girl $100 to pretend to perform fellatio on him. When beginning to have 4-way sex with Christian, Kit and Kimber, he intentionally grabbed Christian's buttocks so he could end the session early and thus retain his secret.

But one should also note that Coasta was lip locked with McGraw and as the show ends we learn that they are twins. So he basically made out with his sister. Not stepsister like Meiki at muvhango, but an actual blood sister.

I guess when the police officer at the station, whilst taking pictures of Costa, saw that he did not have John-Roy. He probably experienced amazing levels of appreciation for his own member.

Meanwhile McNamara and Troy could not believe it either. Look at the expression on Sean's face. LOL

Costa was born with 5-alpha-reductase deficiency, a debilitating disease that left him with no penis. He also had a sister, Violet, who suffered severe facial disfigurement. Apparently both medical anomalies were a result of incest. After their parents abandoned them, the two lived in a convent in Maine. Quentin worked his whole life to become a plastic surgeon so he could fix his sister's face.

On the final episode
The Carver strikes at a sorority house. His identity is revealed. Ariel's dad kidnaps Matt and Cherry. Ariel's dad forces Matt to make a life threatening decision, while the carver tries desperately to get his last minute revenge.

In the morgue, we see a body laid out, covered with a sheet. A hand removes the sheet to reveal Quentin Costa, who opens his eyes and sits up, revealing a bullet-proof vest beneath his black suit. "What took so long?" asks Costa.

Christian and Sean take a Red-eye flight to Maine to visit the convent where Costa was raised. When they mention Violet's death, the Mother Superior is confused, explaining that Quentin's sister's name wasn't Violet, it was Katherine; but Quentin always called her Kit. The Mother Superior then shows Sean and Christian a Christmas card that the pair sent her three years before, which includes a photo of Quentin and Kit.

Did you know that The Carver's outfit is made by Prada. His top is a black zip-up sweater from the Winter 2004 collection. I guess if you are going to kill people you should make sure you do it in style.

On this episode Detective Kit McGraw quits using her fake British accent at the end of the episode in Spain. It was rated as the highest episode in the broadcaster’s (FX) history with a whopping 5.3 million viewers.

(as Gina goes into surgery to have her Carver smile repaired)
Gina: (to Christian) Don't screw this up, asshole. I'm planning to get a book-deal out of this and I don't want to look like the Joker on my dust-jacket

Quentin: (to Sean) Tell me what you don't like about yourself. You two are the most irritating stubborn couple of assholes I've ever met. A year ago, I get down to Miami, the Sodom of the south, to make a little statement with the Naomi Gaines girl, and you two had to pull a John Wayne and destroy my beautiful work.

This marks the end of perhaps, Nip/Tuck's best season thus far.
