TheTVObserver: The Winners

A lot of critics call this award show a mess to put it nicely, because of the use of the internet to vote for your choice of winner, thus raising credibility questions over the voting process as compared to the old version which required only call-in votes.

In those days studios and companies had problems with their staff as soon as the awards are announced, because their employees would be on the phone all the time trying to get their favorite show, movie, actor etc; to win the award.

Personally I think the call-in version was much better and offered a frenzy which gave the show more excitement than the internet voting option. You would be at work, at home, at restaurants, in a park, on the highway and everyone would be on the phone to vote for their favorite. It was a bit annoying because almost everyone’s phone would be engaged. Whatever the reasons, yesterday’s show was a great showcase; I enjoyed Carrie Underwood’s performance which was very cool.

Here is a list of winners and from our picks, 13 walked away with awards. Next time we will try harder.
