Fearless Living in Dangerous Times

≈≈ Fearless living in Dangerous times≈≈

Usually the first thing that hits you when you wake up is NEWS.

What is NEWS? simply put, it is information concerning a particular topic or issue relayed to you using a MEDIUM of COMMUNICATION.

The medium of communication can be:

1. A short message service (SMS)
2. Television
3. A news paper
4. The internet (emails, blogs, headlines on your home page)

Often these NEWS have a basis, an aim and a purpose

In the world we live in today, news tend to be a little exaggerated to get the point across, e.g. if Mr. Jones caught a 10 cm bream fish, it can be reported that it was 11cm, so it goes, on and on.

NEWS keep you in the loop of things, it intrigues you, you desire to know more, so you search until you are satisfied with what you have heard, but ,if you look closely, you don’t really get all the details, and often the NEWS just die. NEWS can not foretell what the future holds if it attempted to, often it would be bleak, with no clear end in site.

At present, I can not say that I have heard a good report, lately we hear about the global recession and
it’s effects, a looming nuclear war between America and Iran, a weakening United States Dollar, swine flu, planes falling out of the skies, people revolting against their leaders in violent ways, suicide killings in the name of someone, oil wars….the list is endless,

BUT I HAVE GREAT NEWS!!!!!!

You see, over 2000+ years ago, at the beginning of ALL creation, God sat down and took His time to plan for the times such as these, God knew that man would fail, so He made a way for us and that way is JESUS, God knew that the world would self –destruct [which it has been doing since the fall of man] and He again made provision, you see He inspired the writers of the bible to put HIS thoughts down on papyrus, and He revealed to them things to come, which was relevant to their time, and is still relevant to us now. You may argue and claim it to be filled with conflicting testimonies, as some “original” writings were excluded. If you read from Genesis to Revelation, you will see that everything is related, nothing flawed. The writers lived in different times, but the message was clearly the same – THE BIBLE is the only source of answers to the times we live in today. It’s the only medium of communication of NEWS,worthy NEWS

Although we are living in dangerous times, where a plane can land in your back yard ,or where you wake up and find yourself unemployed and broke, we do not have to be afraid.

As believers, we are operating in the Kingdom of God, we have the supernatural ability to live fearlessly and victoriously, even in the midst of chaos. My bible tells me to rest assured; knowing that God will shield us from the evil, that will increase in these last days. No matter what, or who and when,

GOD WILL TAKE GREAT CARE OF US.

Philippians 4:6 says we do not have to be full of cares

♦We must rely on God and trust His supernatural ability to take care of us and protect us:

♦Instead of worrying, we must make our petitions known to God through consistent and focused prayer.
♦Remember that God has secured our lives and only He knows what lies ahead of us.

♦We must cast all our worries and concerns on God for He cares for us affectionately (1 Peter 5:6-7).

There are certain things we will not be able to do in our natural ability, like stop a looming nuclear war, so why worry about it if we can not change or stop it?

When we rely on God completely, He accepts the responsibility of taking care of us.

According to Psalm 37:1-10 we must:

♦Not be envious of wicked people; they will soon be cut off.
♦Trust in the Lord and do good; then all will be well with us.
♦Commit our way to Him; roll each and every care on Him.
♦Delight ourselves in the Lord and He will give us the desires of our heart.
♦There is profit in serving God. When we wait on Him we will inherit what He promised.
♦Do not worry as it only tends to lead to evil

WORRY IS THE OFTEN THE RESPONSE OF AN UN-RENEWED HUMAN HEART TOWARD THE DIFFICULTIES IN LIFE.

The Apostle Paul and his companions were in a stressful and dangerous environment in Asia. They were unbearably weighed down, and began to hate life itself. However, they learned to depend on God for strength and security in the midst of turmoil. They acknowledged God’s great power to deliver them; they knew He would save them, and He did!

AND THE SAME GOD THEN, IS THE SAME GOD TODAY, WHO STILL DELIVERS!

Our God provides a way of escape from dire situations. He delivers us from destruction and draws us to Himself. NO RECESSION or WAR can stop HIM!!!!

we do not have to be afraid. because He says He is with us.

We must rely on God and trust His supernatural ability to take care of us and protect us Lean on God and never on your own understanding. God's ways are not ours; nor His thoughts ours

Ms Jay -  These are GREAT NEWS indeed.

THE BIBLE is the only source of answers to the times we live in today. It’s the only medium of communication of NEWS,worthy NEWS

There is nothing that can't be found in the bible.  Talk about war, peace, money, riches, blessings, joy, you name it, You will find it in the bible.  Today, the bible is the largest seller of all books published.

Ephisians 5: 15 - 17

So be careful how you live. Don’t live like fools, but like those who are wise. 16 Make the most of every opportunity in these evil days. 17 Don’t act thoughtlessly, but understand what the Lord wants you to do.

Heh, I thank God-ooo for salvation-oooo

Creflo Dollar's "the fearless Christian" sermons are the best, he says that fear comes from the devil and is a substitute of faith, so if your are weary in faith then the devil uses fear to get hold of you.

When fear or worry creeps in i meditate on these:

"I have not been given the the spirit of fear but of love, power and a sound mind".
"Be anxious for nothing but with prayer and supplication let your requests be made known unto God"

Saints, please help how do i memorise verses, eg, above i won't tell you where exactly that scripture is found in the bible.

Mathaz - I know, they are something else.....I normally write them, like Gen 1:1 then what it says and the version, I repeat that until I think I can write with looking, then I do that and make corrections until i get it perfect and then I repeat it to myself! it works for me.........I wish I could do the same with Ps119 LOL one day!

ja in these troubling times its good to be reminded that God is in control. But does God protection mean we shall not face adversity? If one looks at Job ,it does not say so but it shows that adversity in a christian life works as something that makes them better.whilst in most unbelivers,it works as something that completely and utterly crushes them.does not paul say that i am hard pressed on both sides but not crushed? lets all be a more faithful Job(s) and remember that whatever trials we may face ,this too will pass and the Potter will remake this vessel into the shape he wants even through the fire.irts easier said than done but lets not ever forget;greater is He who is in you than in the world and he who has started a good work is faithfull to finish it,even if you can't afford your school fees, your car is been repossesed, the Lord is faithful and He will help us through

<<Philippians 4:6 says we do not have to be full of cares >> amen sista i love this verse coz when i am about to worry i remember this verse and matthew 6:25-34it says worrying wont add a day to my life so i must just seek his kingdom , pray, or worship

so Bazalwane i want to encourage you to never stop giving even in this time of recession coz in Genesis 26 , God told Isaac to saw a seed and it was a femine year and in that very same year in verse12 he  harvested a hundred times what he saw, so this scriptures encourage me

Amen bazalwane, so true. Mina I meditate on Psalm 23. "The Lord is my sheperd I shall not want". I believe more than my needs are met, God is Johova Jireh and is a God of 'more than enough'. I also meditate on Ephesians 3: 19-20 " ..to know the love of Christ which passes knowledge; that you may be filled with all the fullness of God. Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think.....

Dankie Ms Jay and Cody......

The main reason weare so consumed with fear is because of the things we expose ourselves into, whether by hearing or reading......true true

Someone once said regarding the flesh and the spirit that:
When we read the word of God, we give the Holy spirit something to work with in the event of discouragement, temptations etc.......its like storing food iso that n the event of a femine you are sorted.....and the word of God is exactly that to the spirit...
And equally, the other junk that we take in only fuels the flesh....
What i love about the whole thing is the free will God gave us...to choose life or tp choose death....and when we ignore the Word, which has evrything we need (worthy news as Ms Jay put it)......we the only way to truly live in this "dangerous times"

And Tha-bang...your comment earlier....its one of the principles i am passionate about.....
1 Peter 4:12 says " Dear frineds, do not be surpised at the painful trial you are suffering, as though something strange were happening..."
When all is done, we know that this hard times do not mean doom to us, when WE come out of the refining solutions and furnaces we will be more precious than platinum.....

"I have not been given the the spirit of fear but of love, power and a sound mind".
"Be anxious for nothing but with prayer and supplication let your requests be made known unto God"
This are scriptures i need to meditate on 4 serious....

Thank you Ms jay.....in this turbulant times...we needed to be reminded that  "Those who are with us..are more that those who are with them.."- 2 Kings 6:16
