Who I am in Christ?

In the little time that I have been establishing my relationship with God, I have realised that the main thing that has stopped me from overcoming problems and achieving what I want, is because I didn’t know who am I in Christ, and what benefits I have in being a Christian.

Understanding who you are in Christ will give you a strong foundation to build your life on.Therefore the more you agree with God about your identity in Christ, the more your behaviour will reflect your God given identity, and the more you will overcome WHATEVER unfavourable situation you come across.

Your identity doesn't depend on something you do or have done. Your true identity is who you are in Christ.When you are in Christ you are a new creation, the old has passed away. It's time to stop living out of who people say you are, and take hold of the truth of God's word.

The best way to renew your mind and experience transformation is by knowing, thinking and speaking who you are in Christ.

We need to know who we are in Christ so that we can know what to do whenever we are faced with challenges, when to do it, where to go, and how to do it.

So exactly who am I in Christ,according to the scriptures?

I am loved 1John 3:3	because he is my father
I amd a child of God John 1:12	I am a member of his family
I am a joint heir with Jesus, sharing His inheritance with Him Romans 8:17	I have equal shares with Jesus
I am united with God and one spirit with Him 1Corinthians 6:17	he lives within me.
I am redeemed and forgiven Colossians 1:14	all my sins are forgiven.
I am a new creation because I am in Christ 2Corinthians 5:17	the old me is gone and I am renewed in christ
I do not have a spirit of fear, but of love, power, and a sound mind 2Timothy 1:7	therefore I have a peace of mind, that passes all understanding.
I am free from condemnation Romans 8:1	I have freedom, I am free not dom LOL
I have direct access to God Ephesians 2:18	my prayers do reach God, even though the answers wont be spontaneous, but he will answer , just like when you ask your parents to buy you something, he will think about it and make plans for you to get whatever you asked for.
I am chosen to bear fruit John 15:16	I will forever have good testimonies, I will always win
have been given power to trample on snakes and scorpions and to overcome all the power of the enemy; nothing will harm me Luke 10: 19	i am so amazingly un-loyable (ha ke loyehe) ( I cannot be bewitched) therefore I will not be shaken by challenges or satan’s dirty tricks! I am dominant over him period!
I can ask God for wisdom and He will give me what I need James 1:5	i will know what to do and when to do it.

Train yourself to say the same things that God says in His word. When you come across a situation that seems impossible, speak the word of God into that situation and watch God transform that situation, what seemed impossible, will be possible! When you come across a situation that seems impossible, speak the word of God into that situation and watch God transform that situation, what seemed impossible, will be possible! No matter how big the challenge is, you are dominant to that situation. You have the power in you because he lives in you.

Great article dear, true words, well applying them is sometimes difficult when you are in thatsituation, it is even better if you'll have someone who will remind you who you and who you have on your side. Satana ke skelem, he makes you to dwell on the situation that you are in not the person that you are but yes if God's word abide in you, It saves you in times like that. Great article my love.

who are you in christ? I am a child of God. ke ngwana wa Modimo according to John 1v12 (ngjwana wa Modimo not motho wa Modimo)
I am an heir in His coming Kingdom together with His son Jesus Chris

What benefits do you have for being a Christian?
I have a personal relationship with God. I can communicate with Him whenever i feel like and I know He is always listening.
He blesses me and meets my needs and always gives me my hesrt desires whenever i ask. I call Him my Abba Father, the one who will never dissappoint me or let me down.

What verse in the bible keeps you going night and day?
2 Corinthians 5v 12
we are therefore Christ's ambassodors on earth

this verse makes me realise that if i lack or need something i should consult with my Lord and have my need fulfilled because how can i represent His kingdom and lack or be poor. ambasodorial life is nice because their kingdoms provide for them. that is why my Abba Father is meeting my needs the minute i make Him aware of.

Psalm 20:7
Some trust in chariots, and some in horses: but we will remember the name of the LORD our God.

this one keeps me going because i know where those guys and their chariots ended. soI choose to trust God cause he can open the sea for me to pass

Oh Cody.....thank you for this wonderful article. I love the fact that there are people like you who are still standing boldly and proclaiming the word of God at every chance you get. I am really blessed

As Christians....it is time for us to arise and be proud to be the children of God....Time is short and we must use it in the right way. We must make sure we are in a good state spiritually. It is easy to be busy with things of the flesh. We need to be busy with the things of the Lord.

There are many barriers, and many hindrances like the red sea that can make you lose the vision. I want to encourage you to Arise and see the plan of God for the church. We are not to be moved by circurmstances(like the current recession). Greater is He that is within us than the one who is in the world.

I am assured that God works for my good in all circumstances according to Romans 8:28.
I have been established, anointed, and sealed by God - 2 Corin. 1:21-22.

I can do all things through Christ, who strengthens me "Philippians 4:13"

.....the Bible doesnt promise that things will be perfect (1 Peter 4:12), BUT with Him arround going thru the challanges is easier...and "ALL things (good/bad) work for good as we trust Him with'em"....while the devil comes to steal and destroy (ke skelema indeed BA), with Him the challanges makes us "better not bitter"..(James 1:2-...)

1corinthians 6:19-20 i have been bought with a price and i belong to God
hebrew 4:14-16 I have direct access to the throne of God thru Jesus Christ

i am secure
phillip 1-6 i am confident that God will complete the good work he started in me
psalm 23 Even though I walk thru the valley of the shadow of death i will fear no evil for the Lord is with me.

nice one I sometimes forget that,"greater is he who is in me than he who is in the world"
Who am I in Christ ; a sinner saved by grace.A branch hoping to bare fruits for the master,a steward of His body,talent,time and blessing.But above all a Child of God saved through the death of Christ.

Benefits I've had by being a christian are as follows, a better health cause i dont drink and nor smoke.Peace of mind,cause there are alot of things that are beyond me that I just live to Gods hand,i don't have to worry all the time cause I have a father in heaven. A lovely wife, I believe having the same faith and believes has inriched both our lives and our marriage.A hope for better life when Christ comes cause this world can be very depressing and im glad to know it shall pass ,and a new earth and a new heaven will replace it.Where there shall be no more work stress,pollution,corruption,hatred, violence,abuse you name,I hope to see it for myself.

My favourite verse that keeps me going; John 3:16 for it shows Christ died for everyone ,espicially us the sinners.it's that easy to make it into heaven because of Christ.For me that is the ultimate goal,to see God face to face.John 3:16 "For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son so that whosoever believeth in him,will not perish but have everlasting life" .sweet.

What benefits do you have for being a Christian?

My biggest benefit is Life after death and inheritannce. God said Im JOINT HEIR with Christ and you know what that means (i get so excited just thinking about it), well it means
- My right to the divine heritage stands or falls with Christ's right to the same inheritance. Our interests are intertwined and made one, neither of us any heirship apart from the other , so if there be any flaw in the will, so that it be not valid, if it be not rightly signed, sealed, and delivered, then it is no more valid for Christ than it is for me. If there be some points in the covenant that by lack of legal right may prove null and void, it is as surely null towards Christ as towards me. So, me and Him both. because He had life after death, im assured that i have one.

For whom He foreknew, He also predestined to be conformed to the image of His Son, that He might be the firstborn among many brethren. Benefits: These are endless,

eish this is such a touchy article,especially if you have witnessed the Lord's mercy.

"they that wait upon the Lord shall find thier strength renewed," Isiah 40:31 B
this was a scripture given to me when i was confirmed and its one that i hold on to when life becomes too hard to handle

"But God his promise and he will not allow to be tested beyond your power to remian firm, at the time you are out to the test, he will give you strength to endure it and so provide you with a way out" 1Corinthins 10: 13
this makes fearless and makes face challenges face on,knowing that he is there to provide me with a way out,he may not provide the way today or tomorrow but eventually he will.

i am getting emotional now, rather leave it here.

It is so funny you should say this BA, because i experienced exactly what you are saying here yesterday and i feel so ashamed being the writer of this article. What I did was to reflect back on what i said, i meditated on Jeremiah 29:11 which says - 'For I know the plans I have for you,' declares the LORD, 'plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.' but still i couldn't see the light at the end of the tunnel because i was in that situation but when the night came, i felt so much peace and i found myself not dwelling on that situation anymore. So yes, problems might be there, but when you confess his word they pass much quicker. and yes, fellowship is crucial to our lives!

I know that i'm a very powerful being, no evil shall ever befall me, no weapon formed against me and my family shall prosper and whatever i'm going through i know that evertyhing is working together for my good. Guys how can you quote scripture so well. Coz mina i would meditate on the content of the verse and not the verse itself eg. Genesis 1:2 says ...I'm not sure if that makes sense but hope you get what i'm trying to say.

Recently, I have come to understand this verse and keep it close to my heart. This happens when I pray and pray and feel that nothing is happening, I then remember that my plans are not Gods plans.

So what do I do in that situation? I wait upon the Lord.
He says, they will be mounted with wings of an eagle. They will run but not get tired. They will walk but not faint. So I have learned to wait upon the Lord. I wait for Him to reveal His plans.

e.g A position is advertised at work, you work hard for it, you think that it is yours because you are qualified for it, but unfortunately you dont get the position someone with less qualifications gets the position, it will be very painful indeed, then all of a sudden a position is created for you with even better challenges and benefits than the previous one, if you had gotten that position you would never have the chance to get this one.

now my point is, a bad situation is never really that bad, you just have to choose to approach it with a better attitude. lately when I dont get things that i want and think i deserve, I hurt yes, but i just tell myself that, which means God thinks I deserve something better than this one. 90% of the time when you dont get things that you hoped for, you will get a better one in the appointed time, indeed patience is a virtue.....i've said too much now

Sometimes we don't want to listen to God when He says wait. We expect answers immediately. We forget that in Isaiah 55:8 the Lord says For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways," declares the LORD.

His plans are to prosper us and not to harm us. We need to learn to wait as He is busy putting the ducks in a row.
